JZ Machtech 964RS VISIT 2004.........

Laurence are you doing JZ massive Buffet free geometry etc......convoy from Kent as last year? Lee how is the cage coming along?

Laurence

Straight from Germany...Its bizzare really. Lindbrook have wired it now but reckon they've never worked.
As I mentioned earlier, the car has never been apart, not even the black cover that hides the wiper mechanism had been off unless they had used cotton buds to remove the screws.

Lee

Just a thought while we are all gathered under garage conditions we could ask the JZ boys to show us the seam welds, so Matt bring the CS and Melv Cup Car for comparison, then we can put this one to bed.......[8D]

Can I come along in my Cab? No need for inspections (they might find something expensive!) - just nice to put some faces to names and torture myself over why I ever sold that RS in the first place!

Des - it was too mint (you should know, I'm pretty sure you looked at it...Rubystone red....long journey up the M11 in your father in law's car....to my cottage in deepest Essex...)

Every time I tracked it I cringed at the stone chips and the potential for damage...so I bought a Caterham 7 for half the money and the rest is history...(i.e. a year later I spent the other half on a more powerful Caterham!).

[FONT=Trebuchet MS"]For any 964 RS owners that have not been to JZ Machtec.......GO

It's worth making the trip. Steve & Jonas have invested a vast sum of money in their new premises and always have some interesting cars on show. The catering they laid on for the GT3 guys earlier this year was excellent. We are not talking of manky British Rail sarnies, skinny dried up sausage rolls or Cheese & Pineapple on sticks. Make the effort to go and you will not be disappointed.

JZ Machtec and Parr Garage are probably the best of the independents (we have experience with both and they are equally professional) and they deserve our support.

PS - Pls send them the regards of GT3 owners.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Were almost into August and I've still got my RS, so it's looking ever more likely that I'll be there.

Mark Piper yes it's you, I did look at your car in Essex what a beauty she was......she went to Yorkshire I think, how and where is the car now? Have heard of a couple Yorkshire Rubystone cars at the menders recently!!!!! When are you rejoining the fold?

All the best to the family and the baby must be about 4 now.........

Number 8 ball!

What a good memory you have Des - you had a young 'un too didn't you?

The car went to Nigel Parry in Yorkshire who then sold it to Martin Pearse 'cos it was too clean to track. He bought a mint green MOO3 which he tracked for some time before putting that and his 934 Group B car up for sale thru Gmund (I believe). I think the RS sold but the 934 is still for sale as far as I know. I've just bought a 3.2 Cabriolet for a bit of fun.

"Number 8 Ball" - did I ever tell you about the time I passed an unmarked police car on the M40 on the way back from Supercar Sunday? Dropped the speed rapidly and tried to slide unobtrusively into inside lane (unobtrusive? In a pink Porsche!). Copper pulls up alongside me and scribes the number "6" in the air before smiling and accelerating off....I waited for the ticket to arrive in the post, it never arrive - I guess his mind was on finding a black car to complete his Snooker break.

We defo need to meet up for a shandy so that I can slap you, Piper. There was me thinking you were a tough nut in a Superlight R!
[:D]

Mark I meant the number 6 Ball from your story at the time......you were the one that first mentioned seam welding to me which is running on another thread here, please give me your opinion of seam welds on the RS reply on Seam Weld Thread....also Max is nearly 4 and I have had another one that is nearly 2 George, no more now.......ouch***!!~

Are you coming to Brands Festival?

Dom, deffo up for a beer - maybe meet half way somewhere and drag the other reprobates along (especially the pikey)? You bring the offroader and I'll bring the pimpmobile [:)] Oh and I thought you might take exception to a comment I made elsewhere but it's clearly passed straight over your head[;)]

Des, I think I may already have given my opinion on the seam welds thread - I am sure that some elements of the shell are seam welded and who knows what other shells Porsche may have used to build up the cars (I bet there are some true "cup" shelled RSs out there that are fully seam welded too).

Oh and I have 2 boys too - impending divorce for me is a less drastic but ultimately more painful solution to fathering any more than yours!

Sadly I am on holiday for the Brands Festival, otherwise I'd definitely go - outstanding VFM for a weekend at the races IMHO
