Kettles are the Future ..... !

But aircooled cars are still on a rising curve and GT3's are still on a downward one. No point buying for 'investment' until the curve reaches the bottom. IMHO[:)]

The markets?..The Sunday Times??? There may be a small component of backwardation in the contract, look forward to finding out at delivery! ;)

Saw the article - not exactly going out on a limb. Did make me wonder though. Where did the 'former Evo scribbler' with the RS get too? Along with his S/T replica building associate he seems to have disappeared after the demise of DR. Tony

Cld we have a translation Tony???[:D]

I think it refers to past Evo writer Richard Meadan who did have a black 964 RS (still has?), he then went and set up DR - Drivers Republic, which was an internet based mag, but I think it is has now died too. Not sure where he has ended up now. But pleased to see Chris Harris at Evo!

Sorry Mel, Gibberish is my native tongue! Hughe's right, I was wondering where Richard had gone, as far as I know he still has the RS (certainly did in the summer). Drivers Republic folded late summer due to the founders not agreeing what it should be or where to take it. Hadn't realised Chris Harris was back at Evo though. Will try to speak english in future! Tony

Des you have spent years talking them down so you can pounce when they bottom out! ;O) Now you'll have to build the GT3 values!

I rarely post on the 64RS forum these days, but I have been waiting for this......At last Des, has come out about his Kettle! This is great news, I feel like a minor Bond villain having worked my devious plan! :) You only have to look at recently resurrected posts such as this; http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=196209&mpage=2 for the Carreraboy take on GT cars. Obviously this plan has taken some time to implement, but the gradual erosion of will and belief in The Leichtbau has been slowly worn away. [] For over a year, every time a reasonable Gt3 has come on the market, it has either been discussed with Des as his next car or a subtle email link to the ad sent. Now being carreraboy, he was never going to buy a silver car, so when this low miles yellow car, appeared on the market, the fact it was a comfort and could perhaps be used to transport small boys, only added weight to the arguement. Of course this was thrown off with some disdain, especially when the recent RSR spoilered 964RS maritime car almost came into being. I insisted from the outset, it was not a bargain and the Gt3 was better for him and when the seller disppointed in concluding the sale, the time was right to strike again with the yellow GT3 ad. At this point, to my surprise, with CB on the rebound we seemed to be getting somewhere, a viewing was arranged. I checked the car and paperwork over, had the briefest of drives under the gaze of the eagle eyed seller and announced to Des, "I will buy it if you don't!" Thankfully the deal was done, as I don't really need another speed yellow car/Porsche/grand tourer. [:)] (I am not that callous, if it appeared to something it wasn't, I would have most definitely pointed it out, before swiftly exiting) Aside from all the banter, I honestly think Des will get on fine with it. Going forward, I doubt he will own it forever. The chances of it staying away from the gravel, are about as likely as the Govt telling us climate change is only a means to raise taxes. I think the forums will become a little more lively with air/water cooled debate, with Des getting excited about Weissach and Gt1 engine blocks, prices going up etc,, a bit like exec devlopments in New Cross?.... Ultimately I expect a forum newbie will buy the car on the basis of the Gt3 mk1 brakes, brass synchros and the dual mass flywheel fitted to the comfort. I look forward to Des's running reports, I am sure the car is actually quite well suited to his use. Being the decent chap that he is, Carreraboy, kindly offered me the chance to drive the Gt3, the 140 miles back to Bromley.....I instantly refused, as interesting as it may be to drive, I will be in another car following, having belly laughs, just seeing Carreraboy at the wheel of his own kettle![:D] The question we have to ask is, how long before he owns a Cayenne??? [:D]

We want pictures posted of the happy customer collecting his new appliance!

Rich, there are photos on the link; http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1389744.htm If you are that impatient to see snaps of your next Porsche. [:D] Don't worry I had already intended to record the event for posterity, I only hope I can get a decent photo, competing among the 911&PW, Total911 and GT Porsche paparazzi who will no doubt be present. [:D]
