Prognosis was a broken valve spring, surpringly the seat was still in one piece, well just, the cracks are, of course, still there.
I'll have to report back later on performance, tonight was just a short drive home from my son's...no fast roads involved...??

Could do Paul but not sure if I can be bothered.. I'll keep it for now just in case I get the urge. Things heve moved on since the lindsey DPW which is basically an original Porsche WD with an added DP chamber.blade7 said:I have to admit to employing plenty of man maths when buying parts. But £600 or whatever it was for a new wastegate, instead of a new valve spring would make me cough. I guess you can stick a new spring in the old wastegate and sell it though.
The Turbosmart unit is a nice piece of kit which works differently to the original, for a start it works backwards with the valve outlet connected to the crossover pipe rather than the exhaust.
The car is now running better then ever, i had developed an issue where if too much throttle was used in the higher gears the car would pull back as if it had hit the rev limiter with a pop/bang.
That is now cured, I can now plant my foot in any gear even from low tevs and it pulls like a train with no hesitation. I'm not sure why it did this, clearly it was due to the WG failing before the spring finally gave wsy. Funnily now that I look back the pop/bang was the same noise generated when the WG gave it's last gasp?
One for the techs out there to analyse perhaps.

I used to think that Paul....????
