Lunch out Nov 14th

I suppose I'm to blame for starting this idea so here goes...............

Nov 14th 10am
Bridge Inn Car Park, Walshford
Just north of Wetherby on the near side of the n/bound carriageway

I propose north then east to N.N.yorks area.
Lunch perhaps at masham/hawes
If a longer run is prefered how about over the tops to Alston (stunning area but may mean a dark drive back)

Pls reply with a yes and also remind me if i've forgotten anything. I given you a few starters just in case....

- I've heard there is some good weather coming so I'm going to zymol my 911 instead. [8|]
- I'm being taken shopping for some new shoes that day so maybe next time (sorry jayne not me I'm afraid) [;)]
- I'm saving for Lemans so i'll meet somewhere en route in the Mondeo diesel [&:]
- I've got to reproof my goretex jacket so i won't be able to take the roof down on my boxster [8D]
- I've just sealed my 1971 911 in an environmental bubble for the winter and i pumped it up by hand so no chance [X(]

Come on guys be brave and remember your fleece jacket.

WAC

As I said before Wayne, I'll be there.........no excuses.........er........unless it's raining [:D]

Only kidding, my 911 lives out at the moment anyway!![;)]

yep - I'm in.

Not up for the long run as my two little nippers will be coming too!

See you then

I'm having a look at a few options and due to darkness coming on so soon how about a good run out with Lunch on the way (part timers exit here[;)] ) and then a simple route back as darkness falls via maybe A66/A1.

I've found a very good route that should be quiet and has a few good stops for a coffee, etc. Total mileage was about 189 round trip with 4.5 hrs driving. Add a couple of hours for lunch and talking crap about cars, 2 coffees, 4 undefined pitsops for my better half/passenger to faff about [] and I thinks it's a good 5pm ish finish.

Any good??

hi guys, make that five! me and mine will be travelling from the south of the county, so will probably make one less after lunch. sooooooooooo, make it a crackin drive in the morning wayne!!!! also lookin forward to puttin faces to all these strange names!!!![;)][;)][;)]
p.s. is the bridge inn easy to find, have been known to be topographically challenged on occasions[:D]

It's a doddle to find Glenn, northbound A1 just a few miles past Wetherby. Can't miss
it as the place is RIGHT on the A1!

It's well sign posted too [;)]

So thats 5 & counting.............any more?

Hey up Wayne

Fancy seeing you here! Its good to see that you have finally come over to the dark side and realise there is life outside of those "plastic" cars [:D]

I shall check with my social diary manager about next Sunday and post the reply here.

It would be good to relive the Elise days with a convoy of cars blasting over the moors ( I mean enjoying a sedate Sunday drive out)

Alex
I shall post on boxa.net to see if I can drum up any enthusiasm there

Alex, saw you in Costco last week with the diary manager - didn't get close enough to say hello though. Only just got the 'S' so I'm still learning its qualities. Paul Hogan sends his love by the way.

As an ex Lotus owner I cannot accept any responsibility for Alex's attittude towards plastics cars or their drivers. Go steady Alex on the invites this was supposed to be a quite run out for lunch not the mille miglia!! I don't want a Fish and Chip run style 100 cars debacle as I would be happy to see as few six!

Good to see you all at JCT600 - I'm having a few problems putting names to faces (and feeling bad about it) so if you could put your car model/colour, etc in your board signature that would help me a lot.

Also, anyone with an idea for a pub in the Reeth area for Lunch??

The Bridge Inn @ Grinton is nice pub, & just 1/2 mile from Reeth. Good car park too, but the hump in might be a problem for low cars. There is parking on the road though. Otherwise you have the pubs in reeth, all are OK.

Whats the route? I would deffo recommend the road from Leyburn to Grinton/Reeth for the scenic views

Hi James

What is the route planned for Sunday and what time are you meeting?

Rita and I will be coming along

Hi John, how are you? [:D]

Does anyone know the exact route? If the weather is a good as Metcheck says , then I'll be joining you all ( Porsche has not been out of the garage for almost 8 weeks now so would be fun to clear out the cobwebs [:D] ). Would be usefull to know the route though incase I join up with you all nearer masham area.

For those coming our for lunch pls email me by clicking on my board name and then select EMAIL. Remember to put your name and car in the email as the 'nom de plumes' still fox me and i've no idea who you are!!

I'm going to sort out the route to lunch on wed evening but it is roughly wetherby - masham - reeth area (lunch) - barnard castle - alston return via A66

All very leisurely with a lunch and coffee stops to suit all.

Hope to see you on Sunday James to catch up with news.

Be in the white boxster (still with us) or our latest purchase for the wife an SLK230.

Please put route on forum just in case we sleep in and miss the 10 a.m. meeting point.

Hope to be at JCT Leeds on the 25th for launch of new boxster - hopefully our new car might have arrived!

I've had about 6 replies so far - so 'Lunch out' is looking well attended.

Any more interested pls follow my advice above to get in touch or post here to let me know you're struggling and i'll help you out.
