A couple of us are staying overnight in shifnal and the route does pass reasonably close to the Shell Petrol, however I know only too well the problems of a group fueling up enroute [&:]
The weather forecast for today was heavy rain yet I look out at blue skies and only a few clouds to be seen [&:]
Be assured that even with wet weather, in the true style of the 997 register we will make it to lunch....[]
If the day does turn out a wet one I will do the first stretch to the lunch stop and look at the weather from there, the BBC site has it as light showers which whilst not everyone favorite does tend to keep the roads quieter than normal- not that many parts of the route are busy roads [8D]
I will be offline from this afternoon (enroute to Shifnal), so if your plans do change, can you text me - my number is in the PP and Pfile

A great turnout for the whole day and I really appreciate the distance many of you traveled to join us today.
Hopefully the selection of roads gave both passenger and drivers something to remember today by, I certainly never tire of those sorts of roads and views nor do I ever cease to enjoy seeing the selection of stunning machinery behind me in my mirrors []
Some of the roads
Black seemed a popular colour []

I managed 400 miles, 8 hours driving, and 22mpg average. Not bad.
As expected the Rosso Corsa Italian motor stole the show. Nice work there Clive, I am very envious!! [:'(]
A few select pics to add to Gary's. My car started off spotless and by the end of it was just peppered with bugs. Another wash and polish tomorrow then!
Thanks for arranging an excellent day - a lot of hard work goes into the preparation and on the day - much appreciated.
A little over 450miles and 23.8mpg all in
Great route, scenery and drives, the weather held off too
Nice photo's Alex.
Will post the handful we took in the next few days.
Nice to catch up with everyone
What a great event the Midalnds Breakfast Club has there. Well worth the trip up in itself. Even the police are friendly!!!![]
Must try to get back to that museum sometime- although this may prove difficult since it's not really Judy's thing!
Great piccies, Alex. For the record the colour is Rosso Scuderia (not Corsa) - but I'm just being a PITA nitpicker really. []
Jo and Gary - sorry for the hangovers guys, but a million thanks for your company on Saturday. What a great place the Park House Hotel at Shifnel is. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone. Nice building, plenty of car parking, excellant staff and good food - if you ask nicely they'll even clean your car for you!.
One or two groundings of the old jalopy on some more spirited sections of the run and will need to enlist damage control later, [] but when done enjoying the car and using its for its primary purpose, it's not something to harbour regret about.
Most importantly, it was wonderful to meet up with old friends. also make some new ones. Maybe, if I say pretty please, we can join in on something else later. [8|]
Regards,
Clive and Judith.
Many thanks indeed for organising such a great day out (and for laying on the lovely weather!) It was great to be part of such a fantastic convoy of machinery, and I thoroughly enjoyed my fun day out with a lovely group of people.
Thanks again and all the best, John

I'd of loved an image of my mirrors with the interloper in shot,
I think having talked it through with the vast majority of attendess that concensus was that we would allow the Rosso amongst us once again (quite happliy [])
I think the Police actually enjoyed their weekend almost as much as ourselves[]
I've been quite sad (for me anyhow) and looked at my return numbers... 21.8mpg and average speed of....... 38mph []
Amongst with the attendees the weather really aid the enjoyment of day and I think similar roads may be seen on another route sooner than later [8D]
Thanks again for everyone in supporting the event.

I would like to add my thanks for a fabulous day, I really enjoyed myself. Having not met any of the group before, I really appreciated the friendly welcome from everyone.
The choice of roads was excellent, a great mix of interesting locations, incredibly tight lanes and some beautiful fast flowing sections. The organisation was slick with a good lunch venue.
When's the next one!

It was great to have you along and I'm glad you enjoyed the day, they're a friendly enough bunch []
The next drive is the short drive at Gaydon followed by Poole, later in the year we do revisit Wales once again [8D]
but I'm also looking at some other destination in the meantime..

With mpg's in the low 20's, weather staying fine, and some brilliant real driving roads (with little to no traffic), what an excellent day. When I got home I still had a grin on my face from ear to ear.[] The wife thought I had been up to no good - well I was with my other lady![]
Having been my 3rd time on one of your well organised drives, it certainly won't be my last. Tom was very envious of having a new Scud in the pack, and has asked that Clive bring it along to the next day drive that you organise, please.[]
I can't understand why you don't get more people joining these sort of days. It was good to meet up with everyone and hope to see you all at the next one.[]
Thank you again
