Midland Breakfast with the 997 3rd Feb

ORIGINAL: garyw

A little heads up as this is only a week away...

Looks like there could be a good showing by the Italian bridgade... [] so come on troops.

You will also get a chance to meet the newest member of the 997 register committee [;)]

garyw

I shall try and be there

Hi Gary -

I should be there around 11am with a few of the Yorkshire members - weather permitting !

Happy motoring - Randolph

As event organisor, just thought I'd pop in and say hi and hopefully will meet a few of you next Sunday! Sadly, I won't be in my 911 as the engine is currently having a rebuild, (it's taken 3 years to get it to this stage, I don't rush things!!).

Does anyone have a PCGB banner I could add to the Breakfast Club Website or is it ok to use the generic one at the top of the forum page?

The event does start from 09:00 but I suspect 9am and Sundays doesn't figure too highly on many peoples agendas so nearer to 10 is probably a bit more realistic! If I can, I would like to get all the Porsches lines up together. We normally get a few from DDK, mainly early 911's, a couple of 914's and 924's as well, so would be nice to have a line up with a good variety of Porsches for people to look at.

See you all next week if you remember to set your alarm clocks!

cheers

Coxy

Welcome Coxy and thanks for popping in, Yorkshire region are having a nice drive down to the museum aswell, so hopefully a reasonable turnout for Porsche.
It is suggest to arrive for 10am, as you were correct in your assumption that 9am sounded a bit too early for a Sunday [:D]
hopefully at some point we will get a line up during the day...

I can't say whether its OK to use the banner as you probably know the club and Porsche are very over protective of their logos

See you on Sunday and well done for pulling it together..

I have put it up and it linked directly to this place so I hope they don't mind! May even get them some extra members!!! Might even get to join myself one day! I've had 4 Porsches and still have 2 (although both are currently having surgery, one cosmetic and one not so cosmetic!!!)

There's a few from DDK coming over as well.
Make sure you don't park in the main car park, instead follow the signs for the Breakfast Meet.
There will be marshalls on the day, but how well it works well, we'll found out on Sunday!

Looks like being a bit chilly on Sunday. Speaking as a Southerner who now resides in the Midlands, I'll be putting a warm coat in the back of the car.

Alex, we'd love to have you along but I fully understand how being stuck in a Porsche 480bhp Sports car on empty roads in the morning for 140 miles could be a drag [;)]
At least the venue is worth the trip along with getting to meet the rest of us early birds...

If it's a blue sky Sunday morning I may have more of a desire to make the long trip on my lonesome.

If the BBC weather forecast is correct though I think my journey wouldn't be very pleasent [:(]

Alex thats fully understandable, the weather outlook you have posted is better than the one I looked at yesterday which stated heavy snow...[:D]

I do love snow...

garyw

Latest weather news is that there is no snow & ice around here (I'm 15 mins drive from Cosford) - but it is still cold in the wind! The Met. Office folks are predicting rain for the homeward journey.

Well a cold wind whistled across the car park this morning !!, sadly not really a day to stand around and chat for long, however I was pleased to see so many well turned out Porsche's this morning.. a huge well done to Chris who came up from London with the kids onboard [:)] (you listening Alex[;)]) and Richard for indeed turning up in a slightly muddy car over such a short distance (although we did believe the explanation [:D])

Rob and I managed to speak to quite a few of you both in the cold and later in the Cafe (that had a distinct feel of Ragley hall about it [;)])
Hopefully with a later return in the year when the weather is even better we can spend more time around the cars...

Stunning display both out and in..

Well done to Coxy for putting the event together and I look forward to next time.... Sadly (for me) I will need to take the nephews next time..
Great turnout from Lotus and the other clubs..

garyw

Huge thanks to everyone off here who came!
Your turnout was hugely impressive annd between Porsche & Lotus must have numbered about 50 cars!

I've uploaded about 50 pics onto the Breakfast Club web site
Feel free to take a look and add any comments you wish! (as long as they're good!)
I think we can rival Goodwood for a Breakfast Club!!

Sorry I couldn't make it gents

320 mile round trip for me - wrong side on london and wrong side of Brimingham plus forecast heavy rain and high winds meant I got veto'd attending

Sounds like you had a good time.

Gary well done for arranging to bring us all to this event. I loved it, apart from the weather ! Was great to meet so many fellow members and enthusiasts, but quite how we managed to find the coldest and windiest place in the whole country this morning is beyond me ! With a few showers thrown in !

For future reference, it was a really good venue for a get together, weather permitting, at least the museum kept us dry for a while. I can see that in the spring and summer months it will be a great hang-out, hopefully the Ragley-Hall catering facilities will be able to cope with a few more members as those arriving after 11 were left hungry ! Still I don't think anyone knew how many to expect, nor the fact we'd all converge at once on the poor canteen !

Well done to Coxy for organising a great new Midlands event. A great excuse to get the car out on a Sunday.
