Ta to all you guys that helped me over the last few weeks or so [Which one?]. I opted for an S2 and am providing some pics. The car isn't perfect but everything seems to work on it - and I know from you boys that this is a bonus.

I spent the day today sorting a few things. The drivers door handle was a nightmare, had to pull the lever all the way in to operate. Took the door card off and noticed some adjustment available on the mechanism. Sorted.

LH bulb in instrument cluster not working. Bulb turned out ok. The holder was not making good contact with the circuit board. Sorted this with a bit of foil. Don't know if I have sorted it actually cos I did it during the daylight and wasn't able to see if the bodge has worked. Will have to wait till dark... Hope it's OK as it's not a ten minute job taking the steering wheel off, then half the dash out. But I guess you all know that!

Looking nice Trev [:)]. I particularly like the white wheels and clear indicator combination it's almost a complete contrast to my black wheels and wing mirrors.

Keep us updated how you get on and if any other niggling problems arise.

Smart looking car there- glad you got hold of one even if it lacks boost that colour combo does look good. Welcome to the madhouse !

That's the only acceptable Scooby in my book [:D]

It looks good, black is one of the colours that benefits most from clear indicators.

I need a new monitor at work!

Perhaps you could paint the wheels go....... nah.

Anyway; black still looks really good with clear indicators.

Trev - your car looks fantastic.

Fen when did the seats change to all leather - my 1986 only has partial coverings picture attached. Pin stripe at the moment, but possibly leather in the future!

At the risk of kicking off a purist debate - is leathering cloth seats or replacing them with all leather versions "the done thing"?

Colin, of course its the done thing! Should get some sport seats while your at it.

Nice car Trev, clear indicators are not standard. Is it Baltic Blue?

It was £2600. It's had prang and a new door (driver's side) and a bit of spraying. But it is still OK for the money I reckon! Colour wise I don't know... You probably know better than me [:D]

Leather seats never "started" as such; they were always an option, but I think they became increasingly commonly specified throughout the model run. Lots of '90- Turbos have leather, but I still believe half leather/half vinyl was the standard spec. Fewer S2s have leather and still less Luxes.

Having seats retrimmed in leather isn't cheap. I looked at it for my cab and it was going to be the thick end of a grand (using Southbound covers but fitting them myself) to do the 2 sports seats. Yours are full cloth, Colin, which was also an option. They are also "comfort" rather than sport. Your best bet would be to keep an eye on the 'Bay for a set of leather ones. Sport is nicer and is a straight swap, but more expensive. They look brown on this monitor, but I assume they are black?

Trev's car is either Azure blue or Nautic blue I'd say from the pics when I looked at them at home, the former being solid and the latter metallic. It's definitely darker than Baltic.

Yes clear indicators look good on blue cars also. In fact they look good on all colours, but at their best on "monochromatic" cars in black, white or silver IMO.

Take a look at this - posting it on the forum is probably the worst thing I can do if I want a good price but...

What would you suggest as a ceiling price - currently £310.00

eBay item number

Wow! Them seats are like mine (I think!). Mine have blue piping to match body colour and are perforated. Those on eBay may be perforated but it's not clear.

They are excellent though - one of the reasons I bought my 944. They are not so good if you are fat though...

I'm hardly svelte and I fit in the sport seats fine - they were aimed at the corpulant German businessman after all.

Anyway that interior looks good. I personally like the piping a lot though my 944 didn't have it. Otherwise I think that's the same as mine used to be; blue dash/door caps and linen leather (not mushroom [:'(]).

As a guide I sold just the seats (front & rear) in good condition with line piping about 3 or 4 years ago for 550 notes. By all means edit out the eBay listing number to remove the "advert"!

Honest mate - a mate of mine (with big arse) struggled to get in. There is an art to get in (and out!) anyway even for 'regular' sized people - like me!

But they are still fabulous [:D]
