My motor

ORIGINAL: 944 LIL

Take a look at this - What would you suggest as a ceiling price - currently £310.00

eBay item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110292656030

Did you win them? I think they were an absolute bargain at £421 and I was one of the early bidders for our S2 but had to back out when the wife said she didn't want sports seats in her car because of the large bolsters.

If anyone did win it and the blue topped door cards are surplus then I would be very interested in them

I bet you could sell the blue topped dash for circa £100 too

That was more than a bargain - though why I thought the piping was blue escapes me. I wonder if the blue dash etc. put off some people who would want it for a black/linen interior car? Their loss if it did as you could get close to half that money back relisting the door cards and dash top.

Blimey! That looks superb! Someone did REALLY well there.

Winning bidder was a certain wlyons0 - that sounds like Will of the Nile-Green-Turbo fame.

Will - is it you? If so, I'm dead chuffed for you! (Jammy so-and-so. [;)] )

In the end I didn't bid for them. My mate has suggested I speak to a guy called Sid Mudge who does a lot of upholstery and is quite close - Bracknell. Have you heard of him - seems like a great guy, just not sure how much it'll cost! He has a web site - http://www.coachtrimmer.com/ - he's done some awesome stuff.

When I've done a bit more homework and actually driven the car (!!!) I'll make my mind up on leather.

I've got loads of time to find a similar bargin - and at least I now know whats a good price! I spoke to a breaker who offered everything for £500 - so not a mile off the winning price.

I haven't told the wife yet - she's still not happy about LIL - but I'm thinking of buying a second 944 for spares - is this sensible or am I being silly? Clearly if it has beautiful white leather seats in it that would be a bonus.....[;)]

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I think you missed out there. Those seats were very nice. Most linen leather seats are cracked, grubby and worn and I bet anything you get from a breaker would make you want to cry compared with those ones which were clearly enthusiast owned. You can resurrect them to a certain extent - I did it with mine as they were a little sad looking when I bought my car - but it takes a lot of time and effort and they might never come up brilliantly.

Hopefully it was our Will L who bought them as it keeps them in the group and they'd look stonking against Nile green (not with the blue dash though [:'(]).

Fen - fair play - I may well look back in 6-12 months and wish I'd bought them. I'd like to try out sports seats before I commit - at 6'2 and 16 stone - the previous chat suggests they may be more than snug [&o]. Your previous comments on my current seats leads me to think they are possibly a better style - and if Sid comes in at a decent price I WILL have white leather throughout....

They could be 968 ClubSport wheels in factory white (from a white CS), but otherwise they would more than likely have been silver (they could be another 968 CS colour I guess). They are definitely not original to the car.
