New Arrival!

Nearly 32k views now since publication on Friday evening - that's pretty amazing really.

Although 30k of those are most probably my family and friends! :ROFLMAO:

Clive

Cracking 250 mile run around Devon/Somerset north-west coastline and Exmoor National Park yesterday afternoon. Sun was shining, new Porsche 911 Turbo S, just me and a smattering of tourists and everything right with the world. [:)]

Only got flashed once too. [8|] But I'd overtaken, pulled back on my side and waved thanks before the other guy found his flasher, so I think it was safe! [;)]

Disappointed to see one of my favourite stretches had not wintered well with many quite deep potholes. These rather hindered progress, but managed to avoid most and the road closure notice each end indicates repairs are imminent.

May try to organise a weekend 992 Register Tour covering this route next Spring if there's sufficient interest. [:D]

Clive

The Car Guys YouTube video review of the 992 Turbo S has just surpassed 51,000 views.

Delighted it has been so popular and the team seemed to like it so much! [:)]

Agreed it lacks the passion of Ferrari, which was in abundance when I had my 430 Scuderia - every time the CEL came on just before a planned tour - but that was pure anger! []:ROFLMAO:

Clive

Congratulations Simon - pleased to see it's arrived and it does look immense. [:)] Well done, you are joining a pretty exclusive 992 Turbo S owners' club.

If you have any other photos, please post them and let us know what options you went for as this is always of interest to others.

Regards,

Clive

Thanks Clive - will send more when I pick it up post PPF etc

The full build is as follows:

I'm having it covered with Satin PPF (which may be a bit controversial to some), but I saw a Cayman GT4 in Crayon with Satin PPF and it looked great. Lets see what the 911 turns out like.

I took ages deciding the color and bounced from Gentian Blue, to Agate Grey to Crayon for months, but finally landed on Crayon, Black leather with Crayon stitching, yellow seat belts and dials.

Really looking forward to actually driving it!

Mein Gott, that does look really striking ! Is the Porsche Design Department finally creating new designs ?

Bravo !

I agree, fairly bold, but my thought was to tie in the Yellow Calipers to something else yellow. Once its all unwrapped and protected I think they will work (at least for me)

Found to difficult to actually finalize what specs / colors would work, as having been away from Porsche for a very long time, lockdown and also a lack of Turbo S's to look at when I finalized the spec I was very reliant on the configurator. Plus the dealer wasn't overly helpful!

Due to collect mid w/c 7th June so will. Any tips on any running in? The obvious taking it easy on brakes and tyres, but any specifics that have worked for others?

I think having a bit of colour within the cabin is a good thing. It adds excitement and cheerfulness at the start of the journey. [:)]

I'm no believer in being overly precious with a new car. I try to drive reasonably sensibly (some may chuckle at that!) I don't labour the engine or apply too many revs from cold; also keep an eye on oil level and tyre pressures. Light pressure on the brake pedal for a couple of hundred miles, then some really hard applications from high speed will ensure proper bedding in. So far, the brakes appear not to squeal quite so much as their predecessors.

The Car Guys video is up to nearly 140k views now, with the latest comment placed just a month ago.

I had no idea when I loaned the car to them, quite how popular this YouTube entry would eventually become! [:)]
