New Boxster Member coming soon ...

Oh well, I'm sure your negotiating skills will prevail and you'll get what you want for the car. Hopefully the seller of the Boxster will hold on too. I can't imagine too many people are holding out for a pink Boxster so the sellers market is probably limited too.

Laughing at your selection of flats. Same as mine. My wellies, 'Hunters' of course, and my Rigger Boots (which I had to have imported as I needed a size 3 in them).

I too am a bit of a shorty - 5 foot flat to be precise so I practically live in 3 inch heels. I think that my son will be taller than me by the time he is 3. ( He is in the 95th percentile for height so they expect him to be 6foot +).

So what do you do that requires the use of Riggers? (danger that this thread may run into some serious chick-chat, in which case, Mark Bennett will be snooping any minute...........[;)][:D][:D])

Haha .. sorry boys - girls taking over now [:D]

Thats spooky ... my riggers are also a size 3 plus I've drawn flowers all over them to 'girlify' them ... I work for a property developer so am based on site - its quite cool actually they've sent me on all sorts of courses (including scaffold inspection) - you should see the guys faces when I turn up ... cant quite understand why a young blonde chic is on the same course as them [:)]

Also have my hunters as have a horse so if Im not stuck up a scaffold Im usually freezing by backside at the farm [:'(] winter coming soon too - rubbish!

Yer, she's keeping it to one side for me (for now) I feel terrible but there's nothing else I can do apart from grab any potential buyer by the ankle and reduse to let go until they buy it!! haha

So which Porsche do you have and where are you in the country???

Are you me?

I also work in Property and Development, although at the minute I am on maternity leave - which is WAAAAYYYY more fun than work. (Mr LBD needs to be a millionnaire so that I can just quit and be a baby machine). I trained as a QS and spent many years on construction projects and latterly went to work for a Developer. I have now set up on my own, and plan to return to work (PART TIME (in bold incase Mr LBD reads this)).

I have a Boxster too, just the 987 2.7 girly one as I could not be trusted with anything more powerful. I've had it adapted so that Lliam, my wee boy, can ride with me in it. Its fab fun. I've had it for just over 3 years now, which is the longest I've ever kept a car and I have no plans of getting rid of it. I still smile insanely when I drive it.

I live in a rather lovely wee village called Bridge of Allan which is near Stirling. It's lashing with rain at the minute, but the views are still special.

Where are you based?

Hahahaha - yes I am you - apart from my 'child' neighs instead of cries [:D]

Ah fab - see us girles are taking over ... lady of leisure hey? Sounds good to me ... lucky thing - aww how old is your baby? My friend is a QS - she's forever studying this and that (all jumble to me) ... so complicated!!! Are you planning on going back soon?

I'm from a place called Saddleworth - have you heard of the saddleworth Moors (think back to Myra Hindley) and I live just at the bottom ... one of the reasons I was selling my VX220 is so that I could actually get out of my house come the snowy weather ... initial idea was to get a 4x4 ... oops then changed my mind (again) and now want a pink porsche [;)] oh well I'll just have to stay at home instead of going to work!

Have you had many problems with your car or has it been ok?

QS'ing isn't all that hard. Your friend should get the special QS shirt. Its one size smaller than your usual one, and has one button less. It never fails me when finalising a deal, account or blagging a pay rise. [;)]

My Boxster has been great with no problems at all. Just the usual new tyres, brakes, servicing type of repairs. Had to get a new battery a few weeks ago, but that too is to be expected.

Have to say the Boxster is not fun in the snow. We live at the top of a hill, and last winter I had to leave the car at the bottom of the hill and walk home.

I have email........................[:)]

All this hilarity, don't know whether to feel flattered or what - Alison thinks I'm an 80's child but my "get with the beat" days, the bands wore suits (even The Beatles)! As for dress sense - after 1 party in drag many many moons ago, I've enough sense NOT to wear a dress! Guess what Vicky - stick your nose above the parapet here - maybe, in your case, with the help of a ladder! - and the equity card carriers come out in droves! I'm surprised we've not had comments about getting heels caught behind pedals etc - the clowns on the MB forums I frequent (our shopping trolley is a C270 estate) would have had a field day with this thread!

Anyway, success with the sale and purchase - you won't regret buying a Boxster even if it is pink, they're a real joy to drive and somewhat more practical than a VX220!

Ah Chris you sussed me out. I was trying to flatter you suggesting that your heyday was of the 80's. I did check you DOB and noted that you were born in 1951, 6 years before my mother was born, and figured that probably wasn't a good thing to mention - oops! [;)]

I often think that Porsche Post needs some Pink Pages. A bit where the chicks can discuss the practicalities of porsche ownership and how it impacts on shopping, shoe selction when driving, angle of mirror to get the make-up touched up and managing a child in your porsche. Perhaps I should mention this to the Club?[:D] PPPP = Porsche Post Pink Pages. You know it might just work. It could be a sealed section so as not to patronise anyone - dont read it if you can't handle it kinda thing?

So, this "Lady of Leisure" (never call a mother on maternity leave that), is off to make a wholesome meal, reload the washing machine and do some ironing while Lliam is having a nap after a mammoth feed.

behave now.

First article for PPPP - "Where do I hang my handbag now my car does not have that choke thingy?"

Maybe Mercedes aka Lyn can answer - she's just traded a Healey for a Boxster S and joined this forum - seeing her posts on the MB forum I'm surprised she hasn't yet joined this discussion!

And here I am [:)]

Sorry hadn't seen this post as I've been busy on the Mercedes forum [:-]

Yes it's very nice to see other females on here, I was beginning to think I was the only one!

I love the idea of a pink car, don't care what type of car, I do love pink. Trouble is I can't see my other half driving around in a pink Porsche, so we will stick with our Midnight Blue [;)]

I am also very small, being only 5ft when I really really stand straight. I also wouldn't dream of driving any car without my high heels either and I wear them all the time.

We've only had our Porsche for just under 2wks so are still in the besotted stage of standing at the window just looking at it and everytime the sun peeps out we are off out in it with the roof off looking like a right pair of idiots [:-]

As to where you hang your handbag, well I'm not sure about that either! I just chuck mine down in the footwell.

I unsubscribed too. I'm fed up with my inbox being inundated with "petrol-head" hard core stuff. I like a bit of fun and light hearted banter in my life. I just never found the need to post about having done so!!

That's a shame that it's being readvertised, I do hope that you manage to get the car. Hopefully there won't be that many looking for a pink porsche!

When we found ours we were like a pair of kids at Christmas counting the days till it could be picked up.

Well thats what Im hoping ... theres two ways of looking at it a) its pink, going to be a pain to sell and b) I want it because its pink - hardly a shy retiring violet - lets just hope nobody else gets it! [:D]

The guy who rang earlier in the week about mine is currently working away and not back home until Sat night/Sunday so he says he's coming over Sunday afternoon .. its taking all my will not to call and say are you def coming? are you buying it? ow will you be paying Sir??? Arghhhh ... I have no patience! [&o]

I've mellowed Brian, - a little. Besides, its not about winning, its about living in harmony. [;)] See you soon?

Well looks like I wont by joining you all any time soon - been completely let down (yet again) [&o]

The guy came last night to look at mine (from Leeds), absolutely loved it ... agreed a price, agreed a date to pick it up and said I'll ring you at 8am tomorrow to get your details and I'll arrange for the money to be transfered ... nearly 2pm and nothing ... zilch ... bugger all ... tried to ring him but just rang out then went to answering machine ... []

Vicky, you must be absolutely gutted - but keep the faith, your time will come and who knows, your pink rascal may still be on the market - I'd imagine it will appeal to a very limited market!

You've got the Porsche bug now, so I'm sure it won't be too long before you are a proud owner of one.
