Andrew ... Well I will be Boxsterless for a while probably after seeing official UK launch info in September. I have just turned down a blinding offer but it meant letting the car go now and it's bad enough going 5-6 months with no Boxster let alone 8 months [&o] SO I will have the car for a liittle longer now and pay the price literally  On the other hand if the MY05 was a complete horlicks then I will have my fab 03 indefinitely

According to my info, OPC and other forums -
Press launch 6/7 Sept
World public launch - Paris Motor Show 25th Sept - 10th Oct
UK launch 15th November

First cars delivered in UK end Nov/Dec

[:)]

My OPC called me on Saturday (28th Aug) with the same information about the 987:
Press announcement 7th Sep
Unveiling at the Paris Motor Show on 25th Sep
First build Dec 2004
First deliveries in the UK Jan 2005
Prices 'probably a little higher than now, but below £40K for the S'.

£2K deposit required immediately to keep a place in the queue - and to ensure that OPC allocation is as high as possible to meet their committed demand. As ever, supply will be limited to maintain residuals and the basic spec will be minimal to keep the entry price competitive.

How many will confirm an order without a test drive I wonder.

My OPC has given me a January delivery, which I have passed on, as I don't need a sports car in Jan/Feb weather conditions. I have a March delivery confirmed and so far no deposit required by my OPC or PCGB!.

My OPC is happy that until I have placed a definitive spec and driven there November demo car no money need change hands to get my car in March 05 [8D]

I have once again confirmed with my local OPC that they want to fleece me of 2k to have me on the order books and then an extra % to make 10% when I confirm after the release. Of course this is non-refundable, so my wallet is remaining firmly shut.

OPC Reading however, my home away from home, have accepted a LOI and then once released and I confirm I want one, then I pay the 2k deposit (which will be refundable), and will put me on the order books.

There seems to be a general consensus that some reasonable info should be out before Sep 25th.

Then we can at least see the specs and the price.

Blimey so why would an OPC want £2K of you now [][][] You could order next year and still make the delivery date :ROFLMAO:

2k here, 2k there and in 6 months time their interest will be impressive.

Others though don't want a bean yet. Quite right too!

Anyone found any spy/concept pictures on the web? I have trawled but cannot find anything.

My £2K is quaking in my new 0% for 12 months Sainsbury Credit Card Account...

I cant speak for your OPC but my deposits have always been refundable till the confirmation point when you choose the spec and put 10% down.
