Hi,

Welcom to the forum - I presume you have joined the club !!

I picked up a cab just last September - loving it! So any new owners questions etc please give me a call. As regards roof cleaner there are many products on the market but some get slated!!! Have a look at the concourse forum and there are good pages od advice there.

My best approach has been baby shampoo in lots of water brushed into the roof with a firm brush. Then loads of cold water to rince - brush again used for akward marks. Anyway let me know if you do find a product that is good and works. Also post some pics. I know there were a few cabs around - be interesting to see if you picked up one of the ones I had spotted.

Enjoy the car - they are brilliant.

Cheers..FB

Hi,

I have a 944 Cab also - have been using Autoglym to wash/treat the hood with good results. I have then recoloured using a kit from Renovo with great results. They also do a special polish for the rear window which has brought mine to look as good as new.

Good Luck

Rich

Hi,
Do you have the details on that coloring product? I've also used the Autoglym soft top cleaner and also the spray to keep the water droplets running off. I found it was great.

Hi Kevin,

The product is made by Renovo and comes in about six colours - all of which are not model/make specific. You wash the roof to remove any dirt/repellant and then brush on using a paintbrush - it's not hard, but the colourant does go everywhere. I have a dark blue hood that was really faded, and used 4 coats to get the finish I wanted. Cost was about ÂŁ35. Once you have finished the colouring you apply the water proofer - I used about a litre at ÂŁ15. Overall thought a great product. I also bought a black colourant and did the underside of the soft top - mine had faded badly along with the rear shelf.

I have also used the autoglym clean / treat with good effect.
I think the renovo is regularly available on ebay - it's something I'm planning to do soon...

Chris.

Hi Russ,
Nice one [:D] Looks good and in the best colour too [;)] Can't say the tint is to my taste, but it should be nice and cool when the sun comes out.

Thanks Pete [;)] The tints were on the car and I'm still not too sure about them myself, will see if they grow on me.

I need some help Pete in finding the best place to get new handbrake adjusters and the springs that hold the shoes together. Any advice? much appreciated

Russ

I'm not sure if Bert does them, would be worth a call if they're not listed on his website. If he doesn't do them I suggest it's worth speaking to the guys at the Exeter OPC who are very supportive of the 944 (I seem to be getting a package of bits from them every other week at the moment [:)]).

Looks very nice Russ, the interior looks especially good [8D]

Last time I checked wth Bert, the springs were a dealer only part, just a few quid each and you need two each side

Ive owned three Alpine White cars and I recently bought another... Guards Red / Indischrot is actually the best colour though (Ive only owned one of those).
