Marvellous car... Wish you much fun with it! [:)]

Please don't leave that immacultate dashboard exposed too long under the sun [8D]

Thanks all, at what time tomorrow ?

Regarding the question of price / value --- I haven't answered the question only because it's such a contentious issue.

The interest value in most cars does not have to be linked to value, but there are some cars that, if one wants to experience the ownership proposition which must realistically include full use, then you have to pay what it costs.

In this sense I don't want value to be a question.

It may increase in value, it may bomb, but I will have so much fun showing the car that this is only of secondary value -- and the car should be seen. It is utterly amazing.

If values do "bomb" --- I have a strategy to deal with that as well. At some point I would swop whichever cars I wanted to change for something very very expensive --- hopefully at the bottom !

On the other side, it is also these silly prices which tempts "museum" cars back into the market. QED ....

My first Porsche was an Ocean Blue 924 with brown interior, in 1979. I have never forgotten it, even if I did land it on a hedge on the day that my first child was to be born !!

I believe it is "Before 10" at Donnington... at least that is what I am aiming at... Early enough coming up from Dorset!

Still a lot to do, but who could not be impressed ...

Yes I agree, to race it would damage it more than is necessary, it is after-all a replica. But I have never seen an original ... [:)]

Lovely ...

Oh I think cars like that should be raced. How else would you enjoy it properly? I think it would be ideal in the CSCC Special Saloons and Modsports series (as would the blue 924 turbo racer that was at Donington)

It was nice to meet you today Chris. Thank you very much for allowing me to sit in your car. I haven't been excited by the sight of a car for longer than I can remember.

Simon

Very sorry I missed it today. That GTP looks amazing and I'd love to have seen your new toy Chris.

And Simon - one day we will meet!

How did you manage to get a photo without a crowd of people around it? A great day, and good to meet those I was able to... The day was gone all too fast!

Patience. There were still a few people there though: you can see a pointing finger in the upper left hand corner and I had to move the car out of centre to avoid the people.

Hi Chris

It was great to meet you at Donington yesterday , and a pleasure to have a good close up look at your original GTS - Lovely [:)]

Mark

Thanks all [;)]

I'm always at my happiest sharing a good story.

Willing victims, heaven [:)]

And a good dose of learning as well, what a great day !!

Fantastic car Chris! There's more GTS loveliness here: http://roadscholars.com/inventory/1981-porsche-924gts-clubsport-one-owner-with-750-kilometers

You could have a matching pair...

That has to be up for in excess of £250,000? Close chassis number to Chris's - only about a dozen cars away.

Chris will certainly find those pics of interest for eg the VIN plate having glue over the rivets, as does his.

Chris, your car didn't have the 'turbo' door sill decals, not sure if it did originally but the road scholar and other cars I have seen have done. You can buy OEM spec items from werk924.com as the are NLA from Porsche.

That is even better !!

Lovely, and thanks for the heads up on the door sill decals, I guess I had better get some.

'Have an issue at the moment with an ignition fault. The car is with Strasse at teh mo who have experience with racing a GTS, probable access to a workshop manual and maybe even the borrow of an EC and switcher unit ... the sender and coil seem to be fine.

All suggestions would be most appreciated !!

The car is a possible fro Goodwood if all is sorted ...

Chris
