Supercharged Mx5's do appeal though having sat in one am not sure how comfy I would find one - its a bit snug !

There's almost too much choice out there which is part of the problem [:D]

a Mk2 you'd want to be seen in for less than £4000 and £2000 respectively and you're doing well. Those smoky old jags look like a bargain by comparison.

What it looks like isnt the issue - its what it goes like and £4k for a mk 2 will be immaculate and super fast - dare I say it "will slaughter many cars -guaranteed"

Equally if a smoky old Jag goes wrong its 1000`s and you drive around in a smoking jacket paying the govt loads in fuel tax! To turn up outside a pub in an old Jag (to me) suggests you cant afford even a decent classic car (thats why they are so cheap) unless its really old!

An old skool VW/Ford/VX etc is coooooooool.

Original isnt best (or interesting) to me anyway all cars evolve...............To understand read `Retro Cars`

Well (in)sanity has prevailed and I am in the process of booking her in to get booooosted plus a front end respray/tart up. Will be a bit of a winter project and she should emerge in the new year all shiny and even faster ready for a fun 2011 ! [8D]

So what's the plan Jon?

Well it will be the final piece of the jigsaw (where have i heard that before ?)

New turbo, new 3" downpipe, rolling road remap to take full advantage of the Vitesse MAF and new turbo plus a new cometic head gasket while I am there.

Front end respray and a bit of attention to the lower edges of the front wings too. May also contemplate the LR headlamp air vent and maf trap and/or a slotted badge panel.

Welcome back to the sane side of the fence [:D]

I was getting very worried when the talk veered towards old Jags, Rovers and Vauxhalls [:(]

Brave plan Jon.

Will you be able to keep pace with an S2 when all that's done?

Of course not ! But maybe, just maybe I will stand a chance of at least keeping one in sight and not see it disappear totally over the horizon...

OK. Maybe some kindly S2 driver will go extra-slow some day to allow you to achieve your desire ... [;)]
