The rs day is confirmed, sadly its a friday. We were not able to get a weekend in march,so still hoping a lot of you will turn up.
There is a early bird booking rate of £169 for a short period of time, and of course the chinese.
To book just contact easy track on www.easytrack.co.uk ,any problems speak to Tim,or email me.

What about seeing if we can hire the tarmac rally track for a bit of a Judgement day sprint around?!

I have booked. Which night will be Chinese be? I just don't fancy the drive back south on a Friday night so staying over would be attractive. The idea of using the sprint track sounds fun!

Aye Nick -be nice to chill the night AFTER a track day instead of b4 for a change.

Nicola -u gonna get brave and take the Cup Car experience then???[;)]

I've just booked too[8D]

I want some passenger laps this time please JP.

Just a thought - shouldn't this thread be in the general track day forum. Instead of several separate places. Mods??

Johnny looks like you will be the only one going to the Oulton day in March , all the rest of us are going to Weddings[:D][:D][:D][:D]

The RS day will presumably include the mandatory noise test, well that's my 993 rs out and the two 964 rs clubsports running at well over the 105db, mine is just over at 106db, quiet compared to the 114db and 115db of the 964 rs clubsports of Stuart and Simon's recorded at Oulton Park on the 1st November PCGB track day, suffice to say none of us got on, my 993 rs is running on tech art cup mufflers with FVD 100 cell race cats, without returning to the factory cats and mufflers anybody got any ideas how to reduce the system by ONE decibel ??

Steve,
I think in reality you need to think about getting down to below 100dcb, if you want to start doing more track days, since Oulton is not as strict as say Goodwood or Castle Combe.
My RS runs the noise tests at about 98dcb and allows me to squeese onto any circuit without too much hassle but I'm still running fruity sports exhausts[;)]
Just a thought for you if your going to go to the effort of changing the set up[8|]

Cheers

John

My 993RS has a standard system with slightly larger oval outlets. It reads 100 at Castle Coombe and 105 at Goodwood. A standard RS measures 97 at CC

Guys in the last 3 years i attended this Oulton rs day i ve never seen a sound meter anywhere , has this changed pse ?

Thats going to be extremely difficult John, not sure if it's the very small tech art cup mufflers or the 100 cell race cats,
or a likely combination of the two, with the intention of spaghetti extractor manifolds fitted sometime near??
maybe I could try the factory mufflers with the 100 cell race cats, the current set up is producing the most superb sound
imaginable, anybody solved this problem?
the current set up is factory RS headers with Bischoff FVD 100 cell race cats, tech art cup mufflers, and tech art tail pipes
manufactured for a 993 turbo but modified to fit to the RS, prior to this set up the sound was [] er boring and more like a water cooled boxer, but at least made the noise police happy.

Vic, the noise police were there on the last PCGB track day at Oulton early November, mine was just over the 105dcb limit but the two 964 rs clubsport I came with registered an amazing 114 & 115dcb which is louder than the victor bomber behind my RS on the porsche post cover, Donnington has a no noise limit track day a few times a year but I think this is due to the fact there is the East Midlands Airport next door and not leafy Cheshire villages. If I was to book and pay for the RS track day at Oulton then fail a mandatory dcb test, then presumably I would have lost the money also, maybe I should turn up and if there is no noise test then pay on the day, you can normally get on after lunch should it be fully booked.

My names down too. I'm looking forward to the post mortem analysis of the days events at the Chinese [;)]

Thanks for the info , i do take ur point plus for us soft Southerners its a days work to get there!!! Think i am abt 103 at static tests and drive by even with turbos up only 101...................looking fwd to it all possibly first of the year will bring another colour to the photos!
