My front discs are Gen IIs (no wear indicators) and wear on them look slightly higher than yours. I'd say they were no more than 30% worn. When new they are shiny with light grey bits which get darker until you get big black rough patches everywhere. Yours are no where near that level of wear

I am informed the circles you describe are wear indicators
Clive how do we actually use these wear indicators? Is it a case of when you cant see them the disc has got too thin and therefore needs replacing? If you have to measure the disc thickness then the wear indicators dont seem to help

Bob,

That's basically correct, but you also have to check the roughness of the disc. My OPC reports it has only ever replaced one set and this was due to extreme track day use on the Level 1 brakes.

David,

From the look of that rotor all appears fine. I think you need a second opinion! [8|]

Clive.

Thanks for the comments,I am at the OPC finally on Saturday for a chat, I am also hearing some catching noise when driving along slowly so I think something isn't quite right, let's see the verdict.

The dealer verdict is that the pads are zero and have worn the discs out and they must all be replaced. The car isnt suitable for driving at the moment.

I asked the dealer to check the pads a few weeks ago when they changed the tyres offering to have them changed anyway before by euro trip but was told they are fine.

A debate with Germany will now take place about early wear and replacement.

David
