Not open pit lane it is a Porsche Festival!

It's sessioned Pete with one hour sessions, but just treat it as open pit for the session -give those 996 and 997 Cups a run for their money!![:D]

If anybody wants to stay at Neil and Annes, can someone take over as booking co-ordinator? I've booked the whole place at the mo but looks like numbers will be down this year -I know Charles won't want to slum it!! [;)]

To be fair to them, they will need to know final numbers before the event

PS C u Monday!!

Thanks Mel , Paul on but only 2/45 hours running time a day , but would a be nice experience I guess for Porsche nuts (like us) if we have not been before and we would be bringing a bit of solid air cooled kit .
Having been do you think it is a worthwhile trip .

Hi Peter,

As an event, yes it is a great time. Some lovely, varied cars from early air cooled right up to the latest and greatest. Loads of 996/7 cups with people turning up with the most amazing entourage of gear.

Having said that, if you are going because you want track time, it isn't that great. Realising that you and Paul race etc so you may not be that bothered about the track time. I've been twice, both times with the RSR.

First time was a real experience, very much enjoyed it.

Second time was a bit frustrating as wanted to spend more time on the circuit. Partly my own fault admittedly as the Friday was very wet and there were people in the category I was in who were driving beyond their abilities in the weather and consequently taking themselves and more worryingly others out in various collisions. Didn't really fancy that........surprisingly.

Overtaking allowed, everywhere and anywhere so they are pretty liberal which is a good thing.

Spent two days at Spa with RMA last year which was an open pit lane deal and suited what I wanted much better.

Definitely should be done at least once though - it is a great couple of days with a good crowd of people.

You not coming Des?

Would love to Charles if not only to see you in the Baby Grow ..... will know soon, be interesting to see hoe the Zwanzig Boy goes, The Professor needs to stretch it's legs!

Hunter, as Ben says you have to do at least once in your life.

Thanks Guys so go but without cars then , I agree we should go but to transport cars all the way may not be ideal but the when you go to race I guess you get 45 mins practice and two hour races on the weekend .
Hope to make it.
Ben that is oddly how Paul and I met , at a Spa track day about 14 years ago when we both had 64 RS to play with . I used to put 4 slicks on wheels inside my car and we did Spa and the Ring .

No take a car ..... fabulous festival on and off track ....!

Do it!! It's wall to wall Porsche. Race session on slicks is awesome, more like a test day......

Only reason I'm not going is as competing at Loton Park that w/e....

If you do take a car, definitely book yourselves in Race, driving standards are far superior to the other 2 classes. Its a great few days, and I'm sure you'd have as much fun without the car and wandering the paddock, some classy machinery turns up. And got to be lots of opportunity for pax rides.

Agreed Melv.

As it happens, I am planning a little "teamwork" in the Porsche Club Championship and my efforts may well be better invested in all the UK circuits I ought to know much much better ....

Also, the Abbeville trip will use a very high percentage of my annual mileage allowance in the N-GT, unless I trailer it ??

And whilst I like to keep cars standard, it is becoming very expensive in brakes [&:]

I fully appreciate Melv that I am not supposed to use them ... [:-]

I'm going to trailer to Abbeville for that very reason. Would actually trailer to Oulton, as M1/M6 isnt exactly a great journey, however, its collect the trailer or bleed the brakes, no time for both. Must find my ear plugs.....

guys, if you don't think to fill a complete F1 box, I'm willing to share a space in your garage on Saturdays + Sundays... but it will be the 996RS

If we can share as well or maybe rent with someone ? , how soon does it book up ? , we willl definately bring the 2 993 GT Rs and if no extra per car charges bring the RSRs as well .
Peter

Share Spanish Guys?

Hunter that sounds frabulous, we have back up with Speedservice www.speedservice.nl they know their stuff ... has a very interesting 993[:D]

We can get a F1 Box for 900 Euro for 4 car storage but multiple car entry. Speedservice will no doubt be there so we need 2 F1 boxes as the Dutch show up. I'll see what Olav says.

So we need to know who needs storage at the track in a F1 box and who wants to use the box for access to the track. You need this for Fun and Sport as the track lane gets very busy. For Race everyone has a box so no problem accessing from track lane. Petrol available at the track and so are Michelin tyres.

So lets get some commitment for F1 spaces?

Please post if you want a space?

It normally gets booked directly with Francis as PCGB Box. Looks like 2 F1 boxes will be plenty and we can split costs across the group.

The more day trippers the better. i.e. the ones who take car home to hotel at night!

I'll try the French RS guys too. JC and Jerome
