Start by Des' suggestion for a run down to the Red Lion at Snargate, okay probably not going to happen this summer (though September is all free and with the new air it will most likely be like the middle of summer) or we can do this over Winter too?

I'm keen to do an overseas trip... something along the lines of...

1) Road trip to Cafe de Paris in Monaco via the Alps and back via the Gorge du Verdon. 7-10 days?

2) Weekend trip to the 'Ring! 3 days?

3) Spring road trip to Holland for the tulips etc, returning via Zandvoort for a trackday and beach side fun? 4 days?

4) Route Italia... Stelvio Pass and road trip to see Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati? 7-10 days?

I'd be on for a weekend trip to the ring.

Went a few weeks ago for the first time, what a track !!

If you love driving you simply have to go !

Adrien,

I wonder where you got the idea for the Italian blast.....[8|] I know just the man to arrange the factory tours for us.

All four trips sound like god 'uns to me.

Hi. Not wanting to hijack the thread [:(] (so I will start another) but am doing a big Euro Road trip in September (just over 3 weeks) and taking in Ring, Alps, Italy and South of France. Would love to hear experiences (and some directions or road numbers) for nice drives and also how to get a tour of the Lambo factory!!

Happy to be test pilot for the next London region Eurohoon.

Thanks

Paul, do you still have the itinerary that you took and the contacts? Thanks for volunteering to lead us south... [;)]

My brother and I had a great couple of days in Modena.

I'll bring the guys details down to the Ace tomorrow. For those who are not going the man to speak to is.....

something at the new OPC in Mayfair.....

nice central location for all

I haven't been to the new place; what is the parking situation outside (assuming there would be non onsite) or is this best left to come by public transport?

Porsche Reading tour (especially the backyard where they prepare your cars) is also great for anyone who haven't done it as yet. You never know, you might just witness some of those illegal aliens run out of the containers from Germany as they have done in the past. []

Hi Paul. What time are you going to be at the Ace? I am aiming to get there for 10.30 - 11 ish if I can. Would be good to pick your brains. Will give that guy a look.

All,

How about meeting at the Prospect of Whitby - Wapping E1 by way of an East London regular?

Lets discuss this at Eynsham, I believe you are joining us for the earlier 7am meet at Ace this Saturday...

Trying to obtain 2 tickets for Enysham Hall, do you know of anyone who has tickets who can't make it?

What about Greenwich park at the top of the hill outside of the observatory. Parking is plentiful and there is a nice cafe also.

I have also contacted Raceway a karting track at Kings Cross if we can get 20 people together it is possible to have an hours endurance race for £65 pp. I'm sure that I can negotiate a far better rate than this as the company I work for regularly book this venue for corporate entertaining etc..

Let me know what you think and I can start a dialogue with them.

Hi Steve,

The karting sounds like a great idea - especially as the winter months approach and an indoor racing event would be perfect. Could you investigate and come back with some idea of cost if we had 20-30 people participating? We were talking about it at tonight's Porterhouse meeting, and the idea went down well!

Cheers,
Adrien

Chilterns R21 has a very active karting challenge (in its third year I think) organised by Ashley Miller. They use Kings Cross most winter months.

Do not commit to anything before speaking to him, I have tried my hand, but not really my cup of tea.

You could try sending an email to Ashley through this forum.

Hope it works out.
