Post your suggestion for future meets/events here

I've raced a KC raceway a number of times and can honestly recomment it.

I have spoken to them today and have agreed a price of £60 pp for an hours endurance race which consists of 10 minute qualifiying and 50 minute race. All crash helmets, race suits and gloves will be provided, but I recomment that you at least bring a pair of your own gloves as the ones supplied look a bit like the gardening variety!

It's available on the following dates but please reply asap as the time slots will go.

7th, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th October

We can have the track from 20:00 or 20:30 onwards. If anyone is interested I can ask them to keep their Cafe which serves hot food and drinks throughout. The is adequet parking etc, so let me know what you guys want to do..

If we do it as a PCGB London region event then it is only fair if we give PP readers (well, that is basically all PCGB members) a chance to come too and I am afraid deadline for the October PP has passed. Plus we have a Bavarian dinner night on 7th and East London Curry night on 29th October...

Chilterns R21 has a very active karting challenge (in its third year I think) organised by Ashley Miller. They use Kings Cross most winter months.

Do not commit to anything before speaking to him, I have tried my hand, but not really my cup of tea.

You could try sending an email to Ashley through this forum.

Hope it works out.

David,
Thanks for the reminder. Indeed, I've heard about the R21 karting, but I wasn't aware that Kings X was used during the winter months.

Suggest another set of date and I'll see whats available

Steve,
How about hooking up with R21? Perhaps an inter-regional challenge?! [:)] What's avail in November/Dec? This could be a good time as the colder weather will make an indoor event more attractive too. It will give a chance to advertise up in the Porsche Post to reach a wider audience.

Thanks for exploring the opportunities!

Cheers,
Adrien

What about a Region 20 [+ guests] run to France - not to collect their post [8|] - but starting early on a Saturday and reurning on the next day? It might also be possible to arrange a 'collective' champagne run - and a discount might be available for 'larger' numbers of participants i.e. starting on the Friday, driving to Rheims and arriving on the Friday evening and then two days in that city [and the champagne caverns] until returning on the Sunday.

Alternatively an all day run to france; very early Shuttle/ferry to France and returning on the same day, laden, no doubt, with legal duty free? Again, I beleive that discounts are available if you book relativley early and for numbers.

Do youwant a free plug on LWA on Wednesday? If so, please let me know what you would like me to include - asap since I have to sort out timings, playlists etc.

Hi Julian,
Sorry for taking so long to reply as I just got back online following the house move [&:]

I would really love to do an overseas trip - possibly two: one short one over a long weekend (say Friday - Sunday) to cover areas like Champagne;

and another week-long trip down through Germany (the Ring, Stuttgart Porsche+Mercedes factory tours) down to Italy to do the Italian factory tour (Pagani, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ducati, not-sure-if-Ferrari-is-possible, etc). This longer trip could return via Monaco and via the Gorge du Verdon/Route Napoleon.

I think either a same-day/Saturday-Sunday trip is a bit too short with a group of people. The travel typically takes at least half a day to anywhere meaningful beyond Calais, and it would also be nice to be able to enjoy the destination instead of rushing back.

What do people think? I think we could make this a fantastic and really great road trip for the region.

Cheers,
Adrien

Driving anywhere is fun ! all sounds good. Try and hook up with Jo and Robin Walker at Chiltern region (R21) as they have huge experience of driving abroad - legal requirements etc, also Johnny McGirl likewise. If anything looks promising and you are looking for numbers - count me in.

As a number of Essex R11 members attend the Ace Café, I think you should reciprocate and come to a R11 meeting (2nd Tuesday of the Month).

You can't say it's too far to go for an evening if we are going the other way (but not in the Biblical sense).

Great venue with a large private car park - exclusive use of the bar/function room - great bunch of people....and not a BMW to be seen.

November meet is a quiz night, so should be entertaining (What about a R20 Team?). December is the Christmas bash, which is pre-ordered so tickets only.

Last month we had a photo competition which turned out to be such a great evening we will be doing it again.

Hi John,
Many thanks for the invite! Indeed, I guess where in London one is coming from. A frustration is that there are a lot of North Londoners who don't come to the Ace when they are probably no further than 15 minutes away... and I'm not sure if they would relish a longer drive up to Essex on a midweek night. Nevertheless, I'd be interested in coming along one evening to the R11 meet if I can get out early enough and don't get stuck on the M25! So how about it folks... an R20 team for the quiznight?
Cheers -

Adrien I'm definately up for that!

See November Porsche Post page 90 [;)]; Will start a new thread too... worth keeping: www.porscheclubgbforum.com/london as bookmark as that is always up-to-date with events.
