Preparing for Silverstone Classic..

ORIGINAL: Axl Rose
I was banned to do anything with car before tomorrow night - to make sure that the paint if fully cured..only been out of booth about 16 hours by now..wouldn't want to get any fresh scratces on now would i..[8|]

You need to leave it as long as you possibly can before putting any sort of wax on it and make sure you are really really anal about using totally clean cloths and cleaning implements. A tiny piece of dust or grit will easily scratch that lovely fresh paint []

We will be checking your badge panel for the first stone chip when you get to Silverstone :ROFLMAO:

Waxing is the last thing on my mind right now..i need to put this lego back together so it would look like a car again..[:D]

Just back from garage..got windows and some seals in..boot is back on..almost all bumper lights..
Bits still to paint - bumper light surrounds, wiper arms,1/4 window trims, door handles..and some bits need to go back in black..the hardest part is over so i can take it a bit easier for now..[:D]
Few new pics in album as well..
Oh..almost forgot..just ordered new boot lock seal and rear decal+windscreen decal..both in light blue..[8D]

Tonight's updates..
Fitted some bits..
And everything's sprayed now..just need to get some more lacquer tomorrow to finish em off..
Sprayed bits include rear lights, driving lights, indicators and side repeaters..[8D]..unique and looks really nice..

Just up to me now..need to put all bits on and clean interior..and find time to replace the N/S CV joint..

BTW..might have a nice 944 for sale..[;)]

Not really been keeping up with things I didn't even realise this was July - what's the form in terms of who's going which days and is there camping or is it all poshing it up in hotels that are doubtless fully booked now?

I'm going on the Sunday going up and coming back on the same day won't that be fun.
Why don't you go and take the funny shaped Porsche with a drink problem up there?

ARS. If you spot any good weather on your way better bring it to the South West with you...

Keep an eye out for me, I'll be in the black Audi - don't necessarily know which one though [:D]

We're camping that's for sure..there's several camp sites near entrances..the best one i spotted is £30 a night and will be sold out "first to come" basis..no advance bookings..so i guess i'm lucky to arrive thursday night..[:D]

Anyways..some new pics in album..and the car is back in my back yard..hoping to have a "test drive" sunday or monday..[:)]

No album updates tonight but things are going well..just been out for a drive and everyting's sound..just cosmetical stuff left now..like door cards etc..

Finished early today..a bit ahead of myself..nearly looks like a car again..few new pics in album..
Got new boot lock seal..fitted..blue side repeaters..fitted..arctic blue windscreen and rear panel decals..still waiting for a sunny weather..

Oh well..i still can't stop..just went out and bought a set of side skirts today..and some more paint for em..no pics yet though..

See ya all @ Silverstone..should be there by tomorrow afternoon..although the skirts are now on and painted there will be a loooot of activities between erecting the tent and having a bbq..no more photo updates - if you wanna see come check it out!![;)]

Thankfully, the only preparation required is of the Autoglym variety [8D] (touch wood).

Tent and Stella will be in boot just in case. Looking forward to it - especially seeing some of these infamous 944's for the first time (in non-avatar form)!
