RABY CASTLE 2007

The dates now set, Sunday the 22nd of July 2007 so lets start having some ideas about what to hold etc. We are already looking at the following.
  • An interactive arena where visitors can get up close and personal with different Porsche models, see how they feel, sound etc instead of the usual look but don't touch policy at concours'
  • A 944 display for the 25th anniversary
  • Stalls for both petrol heads and there suffering other half!
  • Show and shine of course.
  • and the usual bird of prey display
Please don't reply with moans and groans about any events this clashes with, I'm afraid it can't be helped when I'm given dead lines by which to sort dates and nobody else has published theirs.

Sorry.

Nick,
I'll try an arrange a group from Lancs and Cumbria to come over. It was a really good day last year.
Cheers,

Nick - saw your post about Raby Castle... Sounds good to me!

How about an area where folks can park their cars which are for sale? They had an area like this a couple of years ago at the PCGB Weekend at Brands and it was enjoyable to take a look at what was available and at what price - privately.

Just a thought.

I wonder if Red Line Racing would like to have a stand ( and bring a Cup Car ? )
Maybe one of the Porsche magazines?

Auto Jumble! Brilliant! Auto jumbles used to be a feature at PCGB events years ago and were a great place to get rid of the odd item you might have lying around. Of course there is now eBay which gives access to a wider audience but not everyone has the time to advertise and then post items out.

Autojumble gets my vote too!

Any chance of a guest speaker in a marquee or somewhere where films / videos can be shown? ... handy if the weather is less than perfect.

rather be in charge of my own stuff then i can negotiate prices, answer peoples questions about the parts and maybe sell them more[8D]

If the mobile phone number of the seller was available then any questions could be asked regarding an item. (Chance to barter as well[:)].)

Cheers,

How about demonstrations on simple jobs that can be done at home to keep the car in good condition - mechanical not just zymol. I am sure there are many people of there that own a porsche that dont know anything about whats under the skin or what to look for. I know I'd appreciate being shown around mine by someone who knows what they are talking about without fear they are going to suck their teeth hard and utter lots of oooh's and aaah's

That sounds like a really good idea Jez. Perhaps if we got someone to do it we could make a small donation for their time and that could go to any designated charity?

Is there an area of tarmac available? Perhaps we could have an autotest of some sort so we could drive our cars. I volunteer to provide the cones.
