RABY CASTLE 2007

Nick,

I have just been to the Harewood House concours, I was desperate to buy some detailing clay, (but not desperate enough to pay £35 to Zymol), Meguiars at £13.95 including the spray would do very nicely (£14 alone from Zymol) but it did occur to me that a car accessory shop might be interested in putting a stall on. There were certianly a few stalls at the Fins and Chrome show last month. Of course I don't know one and I did not get any names having just thought of it, but this is blue sky thinking.

John

Still nobody has asked to have their Porsche in the concours/show and shine, don't all leave it till the last minute like last year as it causes me a headache (I don't like headaches!) If you want to take part just email me of put your details on here.

Come on!!

We still need cars for the concours and models for the interactive section where the owners would be happy to talk to people about their model, show them round, take a seat in it etc, especially helpful for those thinking of buying a particular model, we need the following;

356, 912, 914, 924, 944, 968, 928, 911 3.0 and 3.2, 964, 993, 996 and 997, also cayenne and cayman if possible. One from each model would be great but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks[:D]

Nick - Matthew and I will be there all day and we're happy to be around for folks to look at our 964. Will be in touch.

The dates now set, Sunday the 22nd of July 2007 so lets start having some ideas about what to hold etc. We are already looking at the following.
  • An interactive arena where visitors can get up close and personal with different Porsche models, see how they feel, sound etc instead of the usual look but don't touch policy at concours'
  • A 944 display for the 25th anniversary
  • Stalls for both petrol heads and there suffering other half!
  • Show and shine of course.
  • and the usual bird of prey display

Please don't reply with moans and groans about any events this clashes with, I'm afraid it can't be helped when I'm given dead lines by which to sort dates and nobody else has published theirs.

Sorry.

Hi Nick,

Thought I might come up from North Wales for the day. Do you know of any good pubs with rooms or B&B'S local to Raby castle? Thanks

Sorry Craig, other than Raby Castle itself I don't know the area that well, however if you do a search on either Staindrop, West Auckland, Bishop Auckland or Barnard Castle they are all nice places and with in 10-15mins of the Castle [:D]

Hope this helps

I would just like to post on here a massive thank you to Rick Cannell who I know many of the 944 lads are aware of, if you don't know him he sells high quality decals for Porsches, 944's especially among other things.
He had planned to be at Raby with a stall to sell such items but unfortunately he wont be able to make it, so instead he has donated £300, yes £300 worth of decals to our event which I will sell/auction off during the day with the proceeds going towards Cancer Research, so get ready to put your hands in your pockets and do us proud.

Looking forward to meeting you all (and the forecast is gradually getting better (well you've gotta have faith!!)!!)

Cheers

All my porsche are off the road at the moment so i was going to drive up in the audi but the radiator burst last night so looks like im going to miss it this year. If i can arrange other transport what time do i need to arrive and is there a cost to get in as im not a Pcgb member ??

Hi Random Hero
As I was at Raby this afternoon helping Nick to put tents up, and as I know he is camping there overnight, he will not now be able to answer your questions, however I believe the gates should be open from 11.00am latest tomorrow, and I think the charge to get into the grounds for everyone, PCGB member or not, is ~£4-00.
Hope this helps, and I hope you can make it. Contrary to what's happening in the rest of the country, it looks like we should be OK weather-wise
Regards

Cheers for a great day out! Attached a pic of the 944 display
