RABY CASTLE 2007

Only problem with Auto tests is insurance, not only from a personnal point of view but the clubs and Raby castles not to mention marshalls etc, but I agree it would be good idea, I shall see what we can do!

Also auto jumble is a idea we shall certainly run with.

Nick,
I'll try an arrange a group from Lancs and Cumbria to come over. It was a really good day last year.
Cheers,
Hi Fred. I'd be very interested - just need to check with Beloved, as she is the guardian of the diary.

Had a meeting at Raby yesterday, those of you that asked about camping, it shouldn't be a problem but you will need to let me know for certain so I have numbers etc.

Auto jumble will be a definate, again let me know if you have items for sale, what we will do is have a designated tabled area for the parts with volunteers running it through the day with a list of parts, price etc

No go on the auto test I'm afraid, will need to much marshalling not to mention insurance etc, sorry.

We are going to make the 25th anniversary of the 944 the focus for this year so lets get a huge number there for the display it deserves.

Watch this space.

Hello Nick,
Please put me down for the camping please.
Do you know when we will be able to arrive and put a tent up. Did they mention anything about fires etc, I'm thinking along the lines of disposable BBQs.
Have they said where they would have the camping area? From memory, the corner area passed the Porsche parking area would be ideal. But anywhere on grass will do.[:)]
Cheers,

Fred

Cheers Fred, no problem with disposable bbq, I stayed the night last year and did that, no problem. Where you want to pitch your tent depends on if you are happy to just take it down in the morning then you could have it next to your car on the main site but if you need to have it up for a while longer it will have to be off to one side somewhere, I'm sure we can make it work.
You can arrive when ever you want on the Saturday, folk are there from 10am onwards.
It will be good to see you again.

Cheers

what's the arrangement when we arrive, do we just drive in or do we need anyting? i've got a 944 that i wouldn't mind being in the display.

If you have a marquee or large tent a massage of therapist always goes down well. They will usually do it for a free advert as they might win on-going local business. Good for those who have traveled a long way.

Hope you like the idea. See you there.

Nick,
I don't know how many 944s you're expecting but are you going to arrange them into colour or year or model (lux,S,S2,turbo)? I've seen it done elsewhere and it looks good.

Cheers,

Neil

Don't know how many to expect really but thought we would try to do it in colours (note WE) as this would look very cool I think!![8|]

This is very difficult if you don't know who is going to turn up so you can allocate spacing. As far as spacing is concerned Nick would the people at Raby Castle allow the use of spray marker paint. Another alternative is small flags or bamboo sticks for setting out.
(As an alternative to colour what about doing it according to type - Lux, S2, Turbo etc.? )

Cheers,

Or year. Sort of telling the 944 story. Though this would rely on at least one from each significant model year.

Which ever way it is done the one thing to avoid is having gaps in the display. Nothing looks worse IMO. Also the organisers need to ask people who are displaying their cars to leave them on display until at least a certain time.
The easiest thing to do would be to park them up as they arrive and to have some cans of spray paint available in case of incorrect colours. [;)]

Whatever, my 944 will be there.

Cheers,
