RABY CASTLE 2008, SEPTEMBER 21ST

ORIGINAL: ExAudiSi

Hi Nick,

I know what it's like trying to get members to join in, so if you are short of cars, let me know as I'm sure I can get a few of the TIPEC North East members to turn up. There are usually a few of us turn up anyway and just park with the "other" cars.
I might even be able to get you another 928!

Simon Poole
TIPEC North East RO

Simon I guess you must be fighting the cause now and took over from Gary. I know Gary very well so good to hear from you. If you want to get a few of your club together with your gazebo/flag etc there would be no problem you having your own spot among us so to speak, it would be good to have you along, the more the merrier [:D]

cheers

Nick,

Thanks for that.
I took over from Gary at the beginning of the year as he unfortunately had to stand down due to work commitments (Quashquai's are very popular!).
I will let our members know and come back to you.

Simon

Nick, what time do the concours cars have to be there for ?

I've got a group of 6 or so pre73 Porsches coming , but we're having a good drive out 1st & won't be with you until after lunch.

Hi James, as long as the cars are there for judging mate it doesn't matter, that will be around 2ish lets say, it will be good to see you all [:D]

Its probably crossed your minds recently re all this rain we have had and the condition of the show field! Well I wasn't sure myself so I popped down at lunch time to look for myself as staff had mentioned it was soft!! Well I believe its fine, checked the whole field which is obviously a little damp still but it is firm under foot so we will be fine [;)]

We have one of our members bringing his business to the show, Mike Fenwick has very kindly offered to bring a couple of his vans and a trade stand so if you are thinking of getting your alloys refurbed have a look at his site here....

we also have the alloy medic coming down who do similar repairs

As well as this and the other traders mentioned we also have the BMW northeast branch attending, Tipec and possibly some TVRs [:D]

See you there.

Can I start this posting by saying AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

To say my enthusiasm for this years Raby Castle is waining is an understatement! During the last two days I have had all but two of the traders who said they would attend, cancel, and one of those two is looking iffy!!

The only members coming forward for the show and shine are the good old regulars, thanks guys, there must be other people out there who want to get involved.

I don't know whether its the credit crunch (or whatever you want to call it) thats affecting people this year but those of you who help me annually with this event, John Hawkins and his team and I end up putting a lot of time into this and I'm afraid that this year we might not have a lot to show for it []!!

I'm trying to attract a few more traders but with less than a month left I don't hold out much hope, anway fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!

Nick, Larry ad i are planning to attend in our 1968 911S what time do we have to be there for the show and shine ?

Thanks Nick,
if the weathers good (dry) then i'll bring the356 speedster too. BTW i am happy to show off either of my cars & have people sitting in them

+ don't forget Nick, in addition to Helen, I have at least 7 early DDK Porsches coming along around lunch time [:D] Have you found us a nice patch of grass to park on [:)]

The Raby castle website has details of entrance fees ..... I assume this is correct Nick ? Any discount for display cars [;)]

http://www.rabycastle.com/PorscheClub08.htm

Yeah the prices on the site are correct £5 pp but if you are in a Porsche a pound of that is to be donated to Lord Barnards chosen charity, this goes for any Porsche, displayed or not [:D]

Cheers

There will be 7 of us from TIPEC attending too, all being well.
Those of us from Teesside will be meeting up at the Wynyard Services and heading across at about 9:30 (ish), so we should be there in plenty of time before 11:00.
