RABY CASTLE 2008, SEPTEMBER 21ST

How shiney do you think your car has to be for that sort of thing?

Do you have to take the wheels off and clean all round with a toothbrush?

I`ve read the posts about concours.....not really my cup of tea. Show and shine sounds... well, a bit more fun.

Mike.

Just for info, we have been to a VAG meet in Sedgefield today and I was sunburned!!

Can anyone display or did I have to prebook?

We have just got back from Raby all dry and the weather for Sunday looks good [:)] Don`t for get your sun cream and hat[8D][8D][8D][8D]

I had to leave before the show and shine results were announced, who won? Anyone know where I came (I'm not expecting much after having to wear sunglasses to look at some engine bays!) Great day though guys, thanks very much!

I think the guy that won just ordered a new car and had it delivered directly to Raby

Second was a young guy whose dad was one of the judges, allegedly.

And third was the guy who lived in the castle itself and said we couldn`t come back unless he got a prize
maybe.

I didn`t come anyware....... no where...... can you tell?

Never going to wash my car again.

I should ad that we had an excellent afternoon, the lineup of cars was pretty comprehensive, the venue was perfect and everybody was very friendly.

Thanks Nick and everybody else involved in organising today, There seemed to be a bit of doubt about how things were going to go at one stage....All unfounded on the day. I hope it exeedeed your expectations, it certainly did ours[:)]

Cheers, Mike.

It was a good day with good turnout and some lovely cars. Only real complaint was a lack of trade stands and the fact I tried 3 times to join the Porsche Club at the tent but no one seemed to want to talk to me so I wandered off.

Excellent Day, top class venue, thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth the drive from Halifax thanks to R 3 for a great day

he's had the wheels of that 996, and had cleaned them until they looked like they were in the showroom.

Thanks for the compliment Sambaman,

my wife did question my sanity yesterday when the car was up on axle stands and I was underneath the arches with a toothbrush.[8|]

A great day, thanks to all who entered the show and shine there were some very tidy cars today and all those who travelled considerable distances (Helen and Lazza) to make it a great turnout, approx 160 cars in total. Nick especially who works tirelessly for our region.

We'll be back next year bigger and better once the organizing committee are formed.

Diesel, sorry no one was there to help you join the club, i'm sure that can be rectified if you're local. Our next meeting is on the 8th October, Dun Cow Bourne Moor Nr Houghton le Spring.

I would like to add my thanks to Nick and everyone else who organised todays show. It turned out to be our best supported event this year too.

Don't know how you managed to arrange the weather, but I think I need some pointers on that one as my events so far have generally involved snow or heavy rain!

Thanks again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, an excellent day and it went like clockwork.

Well done Ash, very well deserved [:D]

Diesel, sorry about that [:)] all we could do is give you contact details as it happens, we have no way of actually joining you at the show, if you would like to email me I can have Club HQ give you a call and sort it out thanks.

Once more thanks again to everyone, especially those of you that are always happy to help, I couldn't do it without you [:D]

Cheers
