Rear cage

GO DIRECT TO HEIGO www.heigo.de then get a decent fitter plenty local to you in Kent/Surrey presume you want the half cage.

Ring them Lee and after a few second phone call I'm sure they will tell you the UK Agents.....tell them you have a 964RS as listed on their website and you would like cage reference number........give them the numbers on your Amex Platinum tell them to send it FedEx...you will have it by the weekend. I'm sure you are use to many phone calls with the Fatherland owning 4 Daimler Chrysler Dealerships.......do you want me to hold your hand again...people will talk....you could always get a Scaffold Pole from Norfolk...go for the beautiful lightweight alloy.....

Heigo make a beautiful cage which is just as well, because they are rubbish at marketing:-

No English on their web site
No reply to faxes
No reply to email in English
No reply to email in German [it was probably poor but we tried]

What next Des a Ouija board ???

I am keen for one but how hard do you have to try to buy one from these guys ?

Allan

Perhaps you could try to get Thomas of H&S to sort it . Dare say he'll charge commision but well , it's worth a try. He's speaks both lingo's and some.

[FONT=Arial"]Good idea Laurence, or phone around the various Porsche Motorsport specialists, as I did there is usually one out of a crashed race/track car lying around for hardly no money. Try Parr at Godstone they do the Porsche GB Cup Cars etc, speak to Paul Robe tell him about your plight, also Colin Belton the 964RS Register technical helpline, Phil Hindley Tech9, Craig GT-One, Jonas JZ Machtech, Bert Gear Berlyn Services, Simon Essential Styling etc etc etc etc just takes a bit of application. I'm sure the Heigo cages don't arrive in the UK through osmosis.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Allan & Lee talk about putting your hands in the air, this is not the Spirit that kept these Isles liberated, both of you in the trade as well.........a bit of application and a few calls will produce the goods......or do you want me to do it Lee?[]

Numbers website as above.

Des Always at your service

These are for any 964RS Lightweight/Touring

Being as I am a Scot and noticeably frugal. I have elected to go for the aluminium [14kg] rear cage with diagonal & harness bar, with no tunnel braces, by Weichers Sport. Getting pictures later today from Eric at Advanced Autosport Technologies. It's 50% of Heigo cost and if it is mainly for aesthetics cant justify Heigo cost & weight.

May take a few weeks to arrive, BTW they have a steel one ex stock

Allan

Thanks for the help Des

Des
I think the brass ends and centre spider on a Heigo add the same again to the weight ? I could of course be speaking bo!!ock$

Allan

Yes with the cross diagonal Heigo as per Jeff Hathaway 964RS midnight blue car, mine was a custom job made for a racing 965 Turbo which met it's maker in the Great Race Track in the Sky, but completely undamaged, the emphasis was save weight and could not believe the lightness, literally lifting the entire cage with a finger. These Guys above seem to know their onions and rave about the other makes as well. At the end of the day anything German Porsche orientated and specialist will cost £££££ however you do get that BUILD QUALITY. All the best let us know how you get on.

My goodness Lee. It must be so nice to have staff....................[:D]

Mel

Yes Melv...Looks like Des has been added to the payroll now...but will have to dismiss him now that he's served his purpose..
