Rennlist 964 & 964RS Meet at Donington Park

The [link=http://uk.weather.com/weather/dailyDetails-Derby-DE74?dayNum=3]forecast for Sunday[/link] is looking quite promising! Chris and I will be arriving around 8am to sign on, attend the BaT briefing and do an hour or so on track in Chris's CS, so I imagine we'll be somewhere around the garages in Paddock 1 when everyone else is arriving... if you're down near the Redgate Lodge you could just pop around the corner and may be able catch us still on the track from the viewing point directly in front of Redgate.

ORIGINAL: 65 mat Count me in on some px laps please Tim![:)] Having experienced Tims driving before chaps, rest assured your car is in good hands!!
Matt you have email mate.

Yes you have! Right Mat is bringing his beastie for the morning session and I'm bringing the RSR for the afternoon session! If you could all dry out the track in the morning and try not to spill oil for me that would be much appreciated[;)] Having driven all of 4 miles in the RSR so far what better way than taking it straight to the track! J

Well I went to Donington...or should that be the national ice arena

Track was closed in the morning as it was just ice....rest of the morning was just sighting laps at 30mph....and in places no miles an hour at all! I went over at lunchtime....seemed to cheer some cold people up with something new to see at least.

The pit lane was just an ice rink...nearly fell on my backside half a dozen times and cars were wheel spinning before going out! Decided I'd give at hour before hitting the track and cars were starting to get up to decent speeds...it was icy standing on the pit wall though...most people looked like this...

3 red flags in 20 mins was the nail in the coffin for me...just couldn't bear the thought of binning it on a day everyone would have said well what the hell were you doing out in that when its done 20 miles in last 12 months anyway??????!!!!!!!!!
Chris was giving it some though and Tim was trying to spin it coming out the pit lane![;)] Decided to get back in one piece and before the gritters came out...which I did. So managed to get 100km in this year....time to wrap her up a bit and wait for a bit warmer weather I think....but we will be back....boy will we be back

Good to see you all again, hope you all got back safe and nice to meet Tim...really nice enthusiastic guy (I'll forgive your forum brashness when you first came on here now...[;)]). Roll on 2009 and lots of dry sunny days[:D]

I've just got home and I'm now defrosting with a bottle of red wine. Good to see everyone again and to meet (in person) some people who I've been chatting with on here and Rennlist for a while. Well done Chris for braving the Donington Ice Rink, you're a braver man than a lot of us who watched from the pit wall.
