Let's not get into will it work or not, it has been discussed at length elsewhere. It is fixed to the 3 strongest points
of the car, it adds stregth to the body and it will provide considerable extra protection if things go wrong. It was not designed as a weld in cage, it was designed to give extra protection for track days/hill climbs and sprints. It can be unbolted and the car returned to normal. It is not everyones cup of tea but it does exactly what it was designed to do.
Peter, at what point did i say it wouldnt work ? Any Hoop or Roll cage will if designed and fitted correctly add protection to driver and passenger if the worst should happen, my point was this is not realy a rear roll cage but a hoop so why market it as the latter, as for the if it works or not how many 944s have you rolled over to actually test the device properly?

I'm not looking to get involved in any debate about cost nor efficacy in a roll-over, but I have a genuine question: Why is the harness bar at the height it is at rather than an inch or two higher? I appreciate that it is at an acceptable height for the shoulder strap angle, but it would still be so if it were a big higher. The reason I ask is that if I had one another use I'd put it to is fitting a net between the bottom bar and harness bar to prevent stuff like track wheels and trolley jacks joining me in the front should any sudden stopping take place on the way to an event, and with the top of said net a little bit higher it would work a little bit better.
The accommodation of the diagonal bar sounds superb .
Peter has had to remove his hoop again, in order to act as a jig for mine, and says there is a notable change in rigidity - true or just perceived it can't hurt.
I got an excellent deal on a Cobra FIA shell seat from Cobra's MD at the Autosport show. He is a top man, Club member and real Porsche nut. He re-trimmed his entire car himself and takes much pleasure in a good deal off eBay. He even got into trouble for spraying his brake callipers on the kitchen table. [
With new seat and roll hoop the car should be looking suitably sexy for Front Runner.
It is going to be an interesting exercise all round as it will then render Beaky, predominantly a two seater. If two seats are doable this could then open up the possibility of a more modern Porsche two seater hatch back. [8|] [:-]
Apparently the diagonal stops you folding the rear seats so I will most likely remove the backs when the hoop is in place. After that it is all very much subject to what it looks like, and how it works out.
I may very well put in a carpet covered panel to extend the boot floor forward. I could then introduce sail locker type hatches so I can stash things out of sight the under the false floor.

I was wondering. You're the driver, Belinda gets the passenger seat. You have a nice new shiny thing to show off. Pete and Mostyn now travel out of sight under a false floor....[&:]
Having tried sundry seats my expanding middle aged back side necessitated the wider GT version. This isn't an issue aside having to fabricate a pair of lateral mounting rail as the side supports are further apart.

Track days - assuming I continue to find work and the bills get paid then it would be rude not to. I am still having suspension issues, and a notable clunk from the back end but, assuming I can get that sorted it would be rather nice.
I could do with some 17" fronts for track tyres as well. I'll put up with the 16" rears. And then there is the baffled sump to consider .... and......[

Yes I'm having fun with fitting at the moment with my 'XL' Corbeau seats which have the additional width like yours John. I'm doing my best to find some side mounts that fit, rather than having some rails made up, but would be interested how you plan to do this.
