Rolling road

ORIGINAL: wibble

Good point about the 4-wheel drive....

Yes, the rolling road will cater for 4 wheel drive. It looks like we have enough interest to get discount, approx £40 inc vat as opposed to £50 inc vat per car.

I will check if there is any hidden costs for turbo's etc and then update you all on available dates.

924nutter - hope you are ok for me to run with this on your behalf for the time being?

Go with it Wibble. I am working on details for a run to Beaulieu in Novemeber. The region needs 15 plus to get the reduced group rate. Lunch en route. Details at the October meeting.

I've been to the venue with a different car, the owner is a member on Pistonheads and gives good feedback/advice.

I won't put mine on the rollers but as I live round the corner will try and call in.

Wibble

Is this still happening? Do we have a time? Looking increasingly unlikely that I can make it.

James

Another Update:-
We have Saturday 3rd November as booked, starting at 10am in groups of four (four cars per hour is the plan).

Please note that they cannot test 911 air-cooled turbos - sorry, but you may want talk with Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road 01276 686111. All other turbo's are fine.

So from the list below, I need to confirm definites along with a preferred time 1st & 2nd choice for the time slot so we don't swamp the place at 10am.
The time slots will be 10am, 11am and Midday - others can tag on after this time
Prices will be in the £40 region - I need to check this includes VAT.

For example,
p.beastie 1st 11am 2nd 10am or
cobalt911 no preference

The list is as follows
Scamper
mahoneyj
craig2105
G3ROT Box
ejgs
Paultje
cobalt911
Gordon Attar
turboww
p.bestie
steverich
Alexander Drobik
ricky944
Jay 964RS Rep

I will need to confirm numbers by Thursday 25th October. Many thanks.

Ummm ...... mines a 4WD air cooled 993TT.......... so I guess that excludes me. Oh and why the difference between the water cooled and air cooled turbo's!?

Not a problem as Janspeed owe me a free test.

and a tip guys ... talk to Surrey rolling road in advance about the cars your taking as some of them are rather short of places to tie them down ie removing engine covers on 964 and 993's in advance makes the the job a lot easier

Anytime is good for me. I will be in convoy with Jay964Rep so if we can be in the same session that would be cool.

ETA afternoon session would good.

I could probably do this if I'm in the 10:00 session and can push off by 10:30. Is this realistic?

Cheers

James

Should be good for this - will confirm by Friday. On the price not too worried but there standard charge if £42.57 + vat - so if we can get a discount to keep it at £40 (inclusive of vat that would be good)!
