Getting it picked up this week and put into storage until I get back in July. Not sure what I will do with it yet. Will decide once I've made an assessment of the work needed. It definitely won't be getting broken though. Another one saved!

Should it not be "Pedant's Club"? [8|]

Bought it!
Nice one Tom []
If it ends up looking like your S2 it will be a very wise investment indeed!

Sports seats, aircon, cruise, LSD, M030 (maybe) seems to be quite a high specification car. I'm wondering if it was a dealer demo back in the day?? Going to ask the storage company to send all the paperwork out to me so I can get a better idea of the specification and the history.
Couple of quick questions....
1) What is special about 86' turbo's ? I don't know what date my car is yet but it would be nice to know if it's something special if it is indeed an 86'
2) Anyone ever seen sports seats in that colour before? I'm not sure if they are red or brown from the photos but I know I've never seen any in that colour before.
If anyone know anything else about the car, please let me know.

from memory
forged internals with the earliest blocks having thicker cylinder liners
gearbox oil cooler as standard
front brake cooling air ducts
50+ kgs lighter
early offset
Porsche inscribed door handles
stated as better built and protected
a lot changed after 86 most of which was to meet new safety regulations, with the rest being to cut costs, these were very expensive cars, far more than the average house of the time.....later models had ABS and Air bags and larger wheels/tyres which all add to the weight ..
Of course there are the obvious parts such as the later cars having the larger turbo, mapped for higher boost and thus more power, later cars also have the larger front brakes and stiffer suspension all of which you can add if you so wish although due to the 86's lighter chassis the suspension isn't so important.
there are other differences which i'm sure others can point out..alas i can't recall them right now.

Cool. Thanks. Here's hoping it's still got all those bits after nearly 30 years in service!
well there are certainly some changes from the original equipment if it is an 86?, I hadn't really looked at the photo's before mainly as they are so bad that it made my head swim but I've tried to take a closer look for you...the wheels for sure are later...IMHO the 86 looks best sitting on the early deep dish teledials, this car has later wheels and thus later offset, not sure why...either a previous owner changed it (which has been done by others)or it's not an 86....the top mounts are for a later offset which confirms this. you'll be able to learn a lot more once you receive the paperwork..the VIN number will tell you.
here's hoping...

I'm not sure air con was an option .. I have it but no code for it on the boot sticker so was it standard?
Standard on an '88 turbo, I don't have an '86 price list.
