Run around Yorkshire

Just had a look out of the window and we will need a schwimvagen rather than a porker! Looks like we wont be able to make it [] Sorry folks.

Regards,

Neil

Thanks for organising a great run Mark, on some superb roads and a nice
stopping place for lunch.
The weather just about held out and we even encountered lots of courteous
drivers in slow campers etc moving over for us!!
Or was it the 10 Porsches in their mirrors that did the trick!! [:D]

Yes, many thanks indeed for organising a great run! Wouldn't fancy dropping off the side of the pass though - looks a bit of a long way down! [:D]

Regards

Thanks Mark. The route is worth another run sometime in the future. The views were inspiring but will need to stop and take some pics next time.
The venue for lunch did us proud also, thanks are due to them as well.

For those who chickened out due to the weather, you misted a great run and the weather was not as bad as it could have been; dry most of the time but not particularly warm.

Regards

Many thanks for organising the run our--Ruth and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip---had to stop and put the targa top on--couldn't stand the thought of the car getting wet inside---we cut off from their back home--no problems.

Good to do the run again.

Thanks

Steve

We're not having a dig at you Neil...........Honest! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Was a brilliant day out, so thanks to everyone for coming along, we very lucky to stay dry for as long as we did. Still can't believe the curteous drivers that pulled over for us.

We seemed to get a lot more interest we normally get when out and about.

We took a couple of photos from the car as we went around, here are a selction:

Huddled together for warmth before the off, very cold and windy at this point!

A lovely view down Swaledale

Going over the Buttertubs, amazingly the white van down the bottom was one of the kind drivers that pulled over to lets us pass. Even more amazing is the cycle race taking place on the pass, some of them didn't look all that well and that was before they started the serious climb.

The view from the top was somewhat obscurred by the mist, but still very good:

The Stone House Hotel (http://www.stonehousehotel.co.uk) kindly allowed us to use their car park and picnic in their grounds, so a big thank you to them.

Proof that we did have a picnic outside (before retiring indoors for coffee and warmth!

Unfortunately the drive ended in rain when we reached Pateley Bridge, another big thank you goes to Nidd Valley Motors for allowing use to use their car park, if only briefly!

Proof that us british are hardy, having an ice cream whilst cowering from the rain under a tree.

Hi Mark

Just to add our thanks for Sunday. Kathryn was nearly warm by the time we got home. Shame I didn't have my own car but at least I haven't a car to clean.

Yeah right oh Doug !!!

If its any concellation I managed to swim 3 lengths of the garden in my pyjamas and rescue a brick from the deep end [:D]

Neil & Lizzie

Steve,

Just seen your avatar of your pastel yellow 993 C2S. I have the same car and was told by the previous owner that he thought there were only 6 RHD pastel yellow C2S' in the country. I am trying to track down some information on this ie how many RHD pastel yellow 993's were supplied to the UK in total. How many of these were C2S', C4S', turbo's etc

Have you ever come across an information on this?

Cheers

Hi Lee

We spoke at Harewood re the RSR's.

I know of 5 pastel yellow C2's--yours, Mine, one at the Yorkshire club meeting with the RS spoiler and the two that Specialist Cars were selling.

I am not sure where is is possible to get the build information--the previous owner of your car told me at the time that he thought that there were 4.

On another pont--how far in advance did you need to book the ECU remap?

Steve

I remember speaking to you now Steve. I did get the RSR's and what a good buy they were.

We only booked the ECU re-map 2 weeks ahead. Be prepared for a long wait when you get there though. Wayne is a legend for 2 reasons, one his ability with cars and the 2nd for his ability to keep you waiting. I was booked in at 1pm and he started on the car about 5.30pm. I left at 7.45pm and he still had two BMW M3's to do! Another forum contributor remembers leaving at midnight after Wayne had worked his magic.

However, it is worth the wait and he has a load of Porsche magazines and DVD's to keep you busy.

Let me know how you get on if you do decide to get the live re-map done.

Cheers

Lee

Could you please send me Wayne's contact details, is it a fixed price for the remap or is it based on time taken?

Steve.

Steve,

It's a fixed price which I was led to believe was £400 plus VAT. However, he only charged me £350 + VAT which I wonder was as an apology for keeping me waiting or whether I had the price wrong to start with.

His contact details are 01706 651000 or 07977 004476. Sometimes Lord Lucan can see more easily contacted so persevere!

Oh, and let me know how you get on.

Cheers

Steve/Lee

Wayne charged both Lee and myself £350+vat each as a discount for booking both at the same time.

IMO great value despite the waiting given it would be £500 from 9M. [8D]
