SILVERSTONE CLASSIC 993 RS PHOTOS

Kym, you need to contact Paul McLean for any shirts, I know there are no small left but there are others available sizes, L & XL

Great line up of cars, thanks all for turning up. Glad to be home with no bbq and beer,i think we had louder music than the live bands Friday night. We could not have got a better spot for the kampers, thanks Barry and co.

An excellent turn out and great photos, thanks for posting. Some familiar cars there, really good to see so many of the cars that have changed hands over recent years are still in the safe custody of enthusiastic owners on this side of the channel. Only slight downside of the photos for me is the inclusion of a C2 in the line up, as nice the car is, still that seems to happen every time there is a 993RS display, hopefully I will be able to make the next one. Hopefully looking to take the car along to the PCGB polo event on Aug 15. Are any other RS going along, maybe we can park up in a group?

Thanks Steve for organising a terrific 993RS display on sat. What a treat!! There is a distinct orientation towards riviera and red in your photo bucket......which is hardly surprising. We will have to get more polar silvers along next time. I know they are out there. I hope you enjoyed the press docs, photos and slides I brought with me on sat. I will try to find the porsche ag slide I have of a riviera rs that I mentioned. It's amzing that the dealership was just going to throw these items out once the model was no longer available new. It was well worth the effort of putting my car back on the road for this event. I hope to get it back on the track before to long. Please pass on my sincere thanks to Paul, Colin & Marc for the polo shirt and anniv.gift. All the very best Richard

Great Event and thanks to Steve and Paul for making the arrangements. First event I have been to and was great to meet others with similar cars. Thanks also to the sponsors Paul and Colin for the Event Shirts. Thanks for all your efforts guys! much appreciated Will upload pics when I have managed to resize them all.

Great Pics. Not a 911 lover really but 993 it my favourite! Loved the RS phalanx, there are a few pics of them - and others from Sunday at -[link=http://s787.photobucket.com/albums/yy158/A9XXC/Silverstone%20Classic%202010/]Classic[/link] or as a slide show - [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e04V0Yc74Qg]Classic Slide Show[/link] Thanks for getting it done Mike

Yes, nice car well executed conversion, but I didn't think the car had the RS chassis number from Porsche when built? No big deal a CGT in the line up would have looked out of sorts, I was just surprised to see what appeared to be a converted C2 in a line up to celebrate 15 years of the 993RS in a PCGB display. I may well be behind the times on this one, have things changed are non factory built RS now on the 993RS register?

Actually I was asked to display it by this register, which I happily did to support it at some inconvenience to myself. My car is not an RS it is a race car that has over a 15 year race history evolved into something faster and leaner. No doubt you will embrace it's pace at track days and use it to antagonise GT3 drivers in due course. I couldnt care less if it had a different chasis number, the only thing I am interested in is the driving experience. I am stunned that you are taking such an anal view. I thought that I could bring something positive the this forum and the 993 community but clearly I am mistaken. Dont worry, i wont make the same mistake again.

Steve, Don't take it the wrong way, it is great car, you have put a lot of effort into it and it sounds like you have got exactly what you want ready to have fun on the track. I expressed surprise in my comment and clearly not outright disgust, that the 993RS anniversary register display was not purely factory built 993RS. No real need for the tone of "not making the same mistake" again, nothing to do with me I am nobody in PCGB, just a long term member and RS enthusiast. You may consider it anal to point out such a detail, but I asked a genuine question to the register if we are now including non factory built cars, as I am sure it will increase the numbers many fold. Enjoy your race car, look forward to reports of your exploits on track with it. cheers.

Paul i gave up years ago trying to get displays etc on the go,this was a good turn out. There were actually three cars with out the chassis number over the weekend. I think anything with a motorsport connection was welcome in the display,gt2 and cups etc.As it all helps the numbers, the 993 has always struggled to get numbers to turn up,as i said before things may be on the change as regards to owners who are now real enthusiasts. Its was encouraging to see the owners in keeping with my philosophy, work hard, play hard, drive and race for fun.The hangovers and bbq etc were also great fun.

sorry Paul,i forgot to answer your ? Be rest assured no non correct numbered cars will be part of the physical register, you know i have done a lot to protect the integrity of the register.[;)] But most are welcome to the forum and activities.
