SILVERSTONE CLASSIC 993 RS PHOTOS

Hi Paul, I have called the ticket hotline 3 times since receiving and requesting in field / tickets, with promises of call backs. They mentioned on each call that the concert is the highlight and priority (not my idea and I'm sure the guys here) for Silverstone Classic. Hence, I have not received a call back since last week. I have spent over 2 hours on hold at 0.10p a minute to try and get my infield parking since receiving tickets I'm really only wanting to attend the event and really not worried about the cost. But I would like the ticket office to recognise the fact that 'us' the paying public and exibitors are making these displays off are own back / finance / with owners clubs support. So if you can help on Saturday on getting me, car and wife into the event I would be eternally grateful. My work number is 01737-822000 or email is sbartington@cbsbutler.com, happy to call youstraight back tomorrow to make arrangements. Thanks Simon

OK, I'm not going to start in on the "doesn't it seem mad that PCGB help organise a 15th Anniversary display for 993RS's and then willing owners discover that they can't get an in-field pass to the display". Suffice to say that after much effort (and thanks to PCGB member Philip Blackburn - thanks again Philip) I've managed to get one of the all important, yellow, T marked 'in-field' parking permits. So, I'm delighted to confirm that my Midnight Blue 993RS will attend on the Saturday. See you then.[:)]

Hi - I have been lied to Booked tickets with See for Silverstone for Sunday - confirmed at the time that we would need an infield pass and they agreed and took reg no. Tickets came through, but no pass. Called them again on 17 July and was told "no problem you will receive tickets by middle of next week". No tickets in post today, so called See again (7th call now) only to be told that I will not get a pass and on all the previous calls I was given the wrong information. They say they can't do anything and regret the inconvenience! Called PCGB who are aware of the chaos, but can't help. Can anybody help me? I don't want to be leaving at 4.00am to be turned away! At the moment you are one red 993 RS down! I can be contacted directly - robert.leatt@tiscali.co.uk Not happy at all :(

Same here - Offered to lend the car to a mate who has left buying his tickets and not done so. Tickets availble at the entrance but no infield passes left. The only reason he was taking the car was to add to the display.

Simon, Robert, Mike et al, I have a Yellow Infield Pass which I would gladly offer to other 993RS display owners via Paul (on his bike), once I'm in...... Richard

Thanks Richard - looks like I'll owe you a beer! I have Paul's mobile number and will call when we are near to the circuit, which will be first thing Sunday. There is another question that I need to know the answer to and I should be grateful if you would contact me directly by e-mail at the address shown above. With all this cycling, I think Paul can replace Lance Armstrong on the next Tour de France! Thanks again - Robert

Just leave your tickets with me guys and i will do my best to get you all in. I think i will bring the pit motorbike now. Sadly silverstone is the most unhelpful cicuit of all, probably get worse now they have landed the f1 contract.Shame dony did not happen.

Hi Paul - thanks for your post I sent you a text today to your mobile. Please confirm this is correct. If not - please come back to me via e-mail. I need to know your current number! This is an example of how good the club forum and club officers are. Thanks Robert

No Text so far,my mobile is 07809880937. I will be there from tonight,i will have a word with Barry,i know he is limited in what he can do.But we should be able to borrow some tickets etc Silverstone were not going to let me in a couple of years ago with my kamper and trailer, and i was racing there!

Managed to get my car in to the display area after a lot of time, stress and a lot of help from a good friend but as yet cant get into the infield to camp. Not sure if I will be camping or driving backwards and forwards for 3 days. To be honest it's been a bit of a nightmare

Guys, those without the yellow infield pass should still turn up early on there chosen days, Im positive we can get you in, there are always ways and means ! see you there.

Have a great time chaps. [:D] Please take plenty of photos of the collective to post on the the forum for those of us unable to attend. I hope it goes well with the display, the bar is set pretty high as the photo of Sunday at Classic '08 shows below! []

Well done Steve and everyone involved, it resulted in a very impressive turnout. Thanks also to GT Classics/Ninemeister/PCGB for the trophy and polo shirt, much appreciated. Quote of the day was the guy overheard telling his mate "that's a 993RS, they're rare". His friend replied "well, there seems to be a lot of them" [:D]
