Just thought it worth sharing, Travelodge rooms in Northampton are currently available at £20 per night Fri 26 July and/or Sat 27 July. Obviously you get what you pay for with Travelodge ie a bed and not much more but can't complain at the price.

M&L

PS we're booked in at Northampton Upton Way for the Saturday night.

Booked!......nice one M&L......thanks for the heads-up [:D]

£20....that's less than we paid for a camping pitch last year!!

Still not decided if we are just doing the Sunday or not yet or camping, but that sounds like a cracking deal.

Nice one booked saturday night family room £20 quid plus £2.50 booking on phone, breaky in a bag no way get sumat darn there, thanks again for the tip, see you soon Karen and Jon[;)]

The rather damp camping last year kind of put us off camping this year Mark and we don't mind roughing it. The traffic is not nearly as bad as the Grand Prix which was the primary reason we stayed on circuit.

Also they charged a fixed camping charge of £70 which is a bit steep if you only camp for one night!

The £20 a night was just too much for two tightar**s like us to resist. Therefore Mr Chappell and Mr Tomlinson will be sharing a room at £10 each. I have definately specified twin beds but will pack a lilo and sleeping bag just in case we end up with a double.[:D]

Me and Dan booked in for the Saturday night.
I presume we are meeting up on the Saturday for convoy run down south??
Also need to find somewhere for breakfast on the Sunday as don't fancy the one in a bag!

John

Hi John.

We are going down early doors on the Saturday morning. This will allow us to have a good look about on Saturday and concentrate on Porschey things and the parade on Sunday.

Crikey, if I'd known so many of us from R7 were going I'd have tried to negotiate a preferential rate with Travelodge [;)] [:D]

Lisa

Thinking about Mr Chappell's comment on taking a lilo, I hope it will fit in the bath as I don't think Travel Lodge have a poo l[:D]

Thanks you Lisa, for the advice on booking the Silverstone tickets.[;)]

Looking forward to it

Steve

Regarding the state of Travel Lodges, I'm hoping I've had enough RED WINE not to notice the state of the accomadation

Re: Travel Lodges. £20 or £200 a night, they all look the same in the dark, though you 2 boys might like to take an extra bar of soap. The Lodge I stayed in in Crewe provided a bar of soap about the size of a postage stamp.

Can't help thinking that the words Porsche and Travelodge just don't seem to go together well somehow. But then again, I am tight. Can't wait to get into that minging room with a stomach full of McDonald's and Stella and wake up in the morning to a car park full of Porsches up on bricks.[8|]

Am I right in saying that the Silverstone tickets can only be purchased in advance (cut-off 31 March) and they're £48 for car and 2 people with PCGB discount code?

Just a heads up that's all, I'm all for budget! I hadn't stayed at one for a while, usually use Premier Inn for budget accom. but I booked a tour for a back in September and couldnt get all the dates thru PI so used TL for simplicity but was embarrassed to take a gang of sweaty BMX'ers to what I can only describe as the finest in Eastern Bloc chic [;)]
