Silverstone Evening August 7th

Hi all,
I realise there have been threads about these evenings before, but as this should be the best chance at having a mass 944 appearance at a trackday this year I thought it was worth a seperate thread. From memory in previous years we've managed nearly 10 cars, and it would be great to get somewhere near that number again.

I've just checked and there are still places available, although I suspect they will sell through more quickly than in previous years. It costs £139 from http://www.goldtrack.co.uk/, the event has a 98dB limit and costs nothing to come along and spectate.

It would be nice if you're planning on attending to post here so we can get an idea on numbers for the evening.

Best regards,
Peter

I shall be as spectator only, or for a gentle passenger lap if someone is prepared to start off slow for me (it will be first time back on track after my smash and I don't mind admitting when I watched the last Silverstone evening I had major trembly moments [8|])

My car repairs start on Monday at Croft Coachworks in Ferndown and they are confident it will be finished within 2-3 weeks (not sure I can afford any more trackdays this year but we will see)

Hi Paul,
As you know you're very welcome to come out in my car, I'll be taking it easy to start with as I've not been there for a while. The offer also still stands if you want to get into the drivers seat too.

That's fantastic news about LIL, can't wait to see the results.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Paul,

I guess you won't want to ride with me then? [;)]

Have just booked my place for August 7th - so I will be there! Glad to hear your car is on the mend.

Regards,
Andrew

I am counting the days - first track day in about 15 years!
Paul - you are welcome to sit in with me, but as a complete novice with no experience at Silverstone I may not be the best person to ease you back into it!

Andrew is SO not on my list for a gentle re-introduction []

Thanks for the offer Pete and Steve, I'll see how I feel on the night [:)]

I am there all day with the RMA but will probably stick around in the evening for a while to say hello and watch from the pit wall[:)]

I'll be there - Paul - you didn't fancy a passenger lap with me in July - maybe you'll change your mind for this one? [;)]

Fantastic [:D], that's 5 x 944's so far, plus I know of a couple more that should be joining us if they're ready in time.

Hi All,

I will be there on Tuesday for the Goldtrack evening event (in my 944 Turbo 250bhp). Anybody else coming along (driving or spectating) that has not already chipped in above?

See you there.

Regards,
Andrew

Fraid not, it's my little-un's first birthday that day. Am considering the Donington evening event on Friday 10th though - just waiting a few days to see what the weather is doing.

I'll be popping along around 7pm to kick tyres and dicuss the merits of brakes [:)]

Anyone for a Shandy at The Green Man afterwards?

Buttocks! Full up with a reserve list of 20. [:(] Obviously delighted that Gold Track is doing so well though.

I should be going along for the laugh, none the less, so Green Man Shandy is well on the cards.

I'll not be going out on any passenger laps though on account of I hate being driven and I will be sick.

I am booked in on the Silverstone evening as well now[:D]

Not got red one back from it's makeover yet[]Been away for a few weeks now and swear my hearing has improved[:D]
