Silverstone evenings

It was very wet! and a big turbo with nearly bald rear track rubber do not make for fast progress. Kept it on the Tarmac though and slowly got faster through the evening as the alternative lines started to come together. The new tarmac by the new car magnet pit will was very slippy anything over 1/2 throttle in 3rd with boost and the wheels were spinning.
Good to meet some new people and some familiar faces.

Well it was wet!

Lots of nice cars, several 944s and 968s, and I took lots of piccs!

Some here - Silverstone in the rain

The day session was entirely Aston Martins - all current models including this -

Thanks for the entertainment chaps.

The 'official' photos are now up as well http://www.fresh-orange.co.uk/ but from what I saw of Mikes his are better - I do quite like the one of Peters car catching mine though (Porsche T)

That was another great trackday, really enjoyable despite the weather [:D]

RPM did a great job to get my car ready, it ran brilliantly. They even constructed a shroud around the air filter and it solved the problem I've been experiencing with the car spluttering to a halt when it gets really wet, which is a major step forward.

It was my first time around the new GP circuit and having missed the proper briefing found it quite fun to try to work out where the track went on my first lap! The new section is interesting, I want to drive it in the dry to be sure but it seems an interesting set of corners although the track does seem ludicrously wide.

The standard of driving was excellent, with just the odd car seeming to have malfunctioning mirrors and 2-3 red flags due to spins etc. I'd guess the weather meant there were only half the normal number of cars on track.

I felt a bit rusty after almost a year without a trackday, and I managed to lock the rear tyres on a couple of fluffed down changes during the evening which could have been rather costly or embarrassing, but thankfully apart from a twitch I got away with them both. I got some footage on camera, I'll see if I can find anything worth editing together over the weekend.

Some great looking pics there Mike, i'll have a proper look through them tonight.
