Something i have been working on!

I will! They are doing everything, they are doing a great job aswell, plus they don't hang about getting things done, also they don't mind me popping in every week to drool, really nice family business. If all goes well i might even do some racing next year with them, doing my ards test next month......

Getting really jealous now...let me know if you fancy selling a share (I think I could afford about 1/4 the way things are right now) [:D]

Picture of extra wide Cobra Seats, really comfy and WIDE[:D] Although getting in and out of the car over the rollcage will be entertaining...!

What ever you do, let EMC fit these! The fun and games we had fitting my XL Corbeaus - I would happily have paid somebody else to do!

I can recommend www.promotasport.co.uk for that sort of job. They do race-car/rally car preparation, and the Recaro SPG fitment in my 924S was a nice, clean & safe job.

Thanks for that,EMC are doing the whole build though, the passenger seat will be fixed but the drivers seat will hopefully be adjustable. Its going to the bodyshop tommorow for the exterior paintjob, should have some more pics in a week..

Ensure you spend a lot of time getting the position right, ideally make them adjustable to a degree or utilise brackets with lots of holes.

Woohoo! [8D] Finally we get to see some big pics of the blue beastie. The interior already looks fantastic and I love the fitment pics of the fibreglass parts - I can't wait to see the exterior all fitted and sprayed maritime to match.

What is the estimated final weaight going to be? With a fresh rebuilt engine and wastegate/chips you should be circa 300bhp and a pretty potent prospect on track [:)]

What are your ultimate plans with the car?

[:D]Really looking forward to it too,the guessed weight was mentioned at 1170kg i think, but it is not a dipped shell so still has all the heavy underseal under the car so we will see.....?!,it should be really good fun to drive in theory...!?Ultimate plan would be to have a go at racing maybe..,there is a series that EMC said it could enter called "future classics" series run by the Classic sports club- so thats a dream of mine to enter a race or two with it and compete with it.Just need to pass the ards test next month then have a medical[&:] so nothings cast in stone yet...!Will deffo be doing some track days in it next year and have some tuition. When i drove it back from Promax it certainly felt grunty maybe a tad more so than my black car that dynoed at 284 recently,so with the diet and trick suspension like you say it should go well...fingers crossed..

Jan 31 cant come quickley enough!

A little bird told me it may actually be ready for the pre Christmas Open Day at Cornbury on 6th December, but the owner is spending the day at the theatre with his wife [8|] Tsssk, tssk, tssk [;)]

Enjoy the first drive home from EMC Mark, don't forget the earplugs [:D][:D][:D]

1170kg will be very nice and chuckable. I think that having a car lightened that much will be intoxicating. I would love to do the same. The added rigidity with a cage will allow you to setup the suspension very efficiently and this will create something that will be so much fun I'm jealous Mark. I'd be interested in how you calculated your projected weight and also how you removed all your sound insulation? Also interested in the lightweight panels. What are their origins and how well, or not, did they fit?
Looking forward to further despatches of this story.

My old car is stripped and had polycarbonate windows and a slighty fruity exhaust. It was louder in the cabin obviously, but it wasnt unpleasant or tiring. Id did find that at about 100mph it became noticeably quieter though, which was pleasant, but itd have been hard to explain.

Nice project - like the martime blue as well!

PS : what are you doing with the original turbo S seats? If they are in good shape a friend might be interested in them.

Wow. What a car and what a project! Having had my bad experience all those years ago with Promax and EMC its not a side of aftermarket 944 specialists I've ever returned to but they've stood the test of time and you've certainly got some impressive results sticking by them over the years!

Your cars are unquestionable proof they deserve a place in the Porsche tuning market and as a now ageing 944 enthusiast I have great respect for your projects. Look forward to seeing the car and chatting to you in Jan. Until then enjoy[:)]

Thanks for that guys[:)]!
The weight was an educated guess, nothing more, we shall see for sure when it gets weighed!,The body Panels EMC got for me, they look fine to me for GRP -they are lightweight GRP panels and won't look like steel panels but we will see when its painted. The car is going to the Bodyshop today so i will have some pics this time next week all being well...
Noisewise it won't be as loud as an acid dipped shell because it still has all the underseal underneath ,but it will still be symphony of noises i bet[:D],the exhaust i find to be really quiet on this car, it is a Dansk backbox and i find it even quieter than the original Porsche item that is still on my black turbo, apart from the whistle/rushing noise the Dansk box makes under max boost- which i quite like.Roll on next week can't wait to see it ...
Original (very heavy!)Turbo S studio seats have already gone, sorry i couldn't help with those.
