South Coast Meet - Sept 18th

For some reason people have been a little shy in posting the following, but it would seem a shame not to bring it to your attention. It could be one of the last chances of a get together before the winter comes.[]

Hastings Meet for Brighton drive Sunday 18.09.05. Weather forecast brilliant.
The suggested meet is at 10.30am in the eastern seafront car park(brekkie and walkabout), Hastings followed by a drive to the notorious beauty spot "Beachy Head",(Yes you can still go right to the edge, or phone for help if youre having a bad day!) just West of Eastbourne. From there along the South Downs coast road into Brighton, a good winding hilly road with beautiful scenery, and a coffee/pub break in between. Into Brighton Marina for lunch.
Local OPCs at Hove and Burgess Hill could give us a tour if you would like. Or an extended tour of Brighton might suit better, there were a couple of requests last year for specifics?
Kent, West Sussex and Londoners, "interesting" roads here.

Apparently people from Essex are welcome as well. [:)]

I was thinking of making the effort, until I read the last line [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]On a serious note I am very tempted as I missed Brands. It partly depends on how many pounds a litre Optimax is by the end of next week to be honest. Following Autoroute's somewhat comical suggestion it would be 275 miles each way for me (still, it was better than the original suggestion of Hastings, Nebraska). I think a more realistic 400 mile round trip, plus driving on the event is about right.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Nice one John...I ll be there, long drive for me too! [:D] One or two chaps from Sussex Region will be there.
Regards

Glad to hear you'll be able to make it Keith [:D]. It might be a short drive without you, otherwise.

Am I right in thinking we had a dozen cars last time?

Youre not too far off , so far its looking more than last year, and as the format is different the drive route is loads better. A lovely coast road route has been planned, Ive swapped the possible OPC visit for Brighton pier! which I think will be more memorable/enjoyable(we can all visit OPCs any weekend). If you want to start taking a look its the A259 basically all the way from Hastings to Brighton, via Beachy Head. Very beautiful scenery and we will do our head-turning convoy along at least 3 major seafronts!
Regards

John,
Is Baby Porsche allowed to go or is it strictly big boys only?

Sian

Only on the understanding that you don't leave us behind again. I'm still trying to live down the embarrassment of having to "try" when keeping up with Baby Porsche in Scotland. []

To be honest, the whole event is only a pretence so that I can see you again. [8D]

Phils also bringing his 924. Maybe next year we can expand to ALL front engine models...contentious...Moi

And are Boxsters from North London invited?

Hope to be able to join you all.

We aren't proud ( or elitist as might have been suggested at some time [;)]) but children can be a little cruel when they are together so be prepared for a little ribbing Julian. Otherwise....if the badge says "Porsche" I don't have any issues myself.

Boxsters are fine, but North Londoners!?[:D]

See you here Julian!

Hmmm I didn't read the date properly for this and thought it was THIS weekend - doh!

I might be able to make the 18th

I couldn't make it much clearer - big clue in the heading for a start. [;)]

Must see you next weekend as I need a price for some works on Beaky - have you got your big spray gun yet?

Am considering:-

Door mirrors
Headlamp covers (remove from car)
Badge Panel (remove from car)
Front corners of front wings
Front edge of B pillars
And a couple of rust spots.

I don't suppose you want a holey badge panel do you? I have the Lyndsey Stage 5 Header to go on and my current one will be surplus to requirement and offered for sale amongst the discerning Turbotscenti.

Well I have been pondering perforating mine so if the price is appropriately minuscule I could be on for it. [:)]
