SPA Blog 2009

The original film is about 30 min long and it´s called "Rhapsodie in Blech" - maybe you find it some where as DVD. Worth to buy it, all scenes are taken at the Adenauer Forst on the Nordschleife when Joe Average tried to be the next Jackie Stewart.

Poor sod ! Never knew what he was in for!

Late braking, drifting and screams from the driver's side.

Funny you should mention it........but I had a ball on very hot slicks, sliding all over the place -unfortunately I misjudged the end of the session and they red flagged it before I had time for a cooling down lap!! My French did not extend to 'Please get out of the car quickly, I have to drive around the paddock to cool my brakes!!!'........but he seemed to understand..[:)]

If that's Paul, he said it was mega !

Actually, he'll be around so he can say that for himself [:)]

Was mega!!!! - and that was with the enigmatic engine coughing - soon after a re-fueling stop - felt like foot-on foot-off throttle - but wasn't. Hope you get it sorted by Wayne.

So much speed carried through Bruxelles hairpin - different experience all round on slicks.

Must get another pax ride with Melv - now where did I put those sick bags?.....

Thought it was fitting to bump this. Happy memories, Spa on the near horizon, and a change from the usual discussion of our pension funds. Have we aged that much over the past five years? [:D][:D][:D][:D]

We have aged, but not that much! A perfect weekend that was, those who were there for sure won´t forget it. But things have changed - we do miss our teacher, some of the 964s are in different hands now and these cars are rarely seen on trackdays nowadays.

Rumour has it that 964s need a big warning light on the roof for Kemmel this year due to an application by a certain Belgium who lives in Scotland.

If they let the Belgian-living-in-Scotland drive the 935, as asked in his application, he will only be too be happy to help the retirement fund procession to reach "120 is plenty" on Kemmel. They intimated that if a bike could do it, a 964 should do it, but they did not say anything about the ageing drivers whose ZZ-Top beard will increase drag... [:D][:D][:D]

I do hope these threads are never lost and can be backed up, I'll always be following those immortal words, Sean,

"lets hunt down those kettles...[:D]

Good one Phil and just to add, Tim who zzzzzzzzz[;)]
