I'm restoring a 1984 944 Auto and have an immediate need for a flywheel damper plate (Porsche part No.: 944-116-065-02). Alternatively I am considering the conversion where you use a rubber centered manual clutch in substitution of the damper plate so for this I need ... manual flywheel, rubber centered friction plate and pressure plate. Any old clutch will do (within reason!) because it doesn't do anything, it stays permanently engaged as a connection between the flywheel and the torque tube. If you are not sure what I mean have a look at my posting "Flywheel Damper Plate" in the 944 forum.

I also need a few other parts such as ... O/S/R light lens ... leather seat set (front and rear) prefer black but can always re-colour them and don't have to be 944 seats but would prefer to keep to Porsche seats ... hatchback gas struts ... front spoiler.

I have a pair of front Porsche seats for a 944 - with the motors too. They are dark blue leather faced. I paid almost £200 for them a couple of years ago with the intenton of upgrading my car to leather, but I can't get hold of the matching rear seats in leather for a Cabriolet so if you're interested, make me a good offer! I live in Lytham in the North West so carriage might be an issue.

As for the Gas Struts, try Exeter Porsche Centre - they aren't too expensive new. I tried Douglas Valley for some a few years back, and their price for taking some off a write off was withing a couple of quid of Exeter's new price. Tell them you're a forum member and you'll get a discount, and they used to do free postage - they may still do so.

Thanks George ... possibly for the same reason as you I would rather have all leather so will wait and see what comes along but I may come back to you ... are yours all leather face with fabric backing or leather sides with fabric centres?

I just got 2 x new rear gas struts from proMAX for £32 before p+p. Arrived last night and they are spot on. Funnily they advertise them as OE but the other non OE brand they list are £40+ each!!!! Go figure. The ones I got seem perfect though and of course if they advertise them as OE quality then technically speaking they must be good as original.

Hi, they are all leather face, and the back is matching leatherette / vinyl or something like that. I'm going away for a couple of weeks from 5th Feb, so if you try to contact me during that period, I'm not ignoring you. Good hunting!
