Must have been Des with that description?
Charles, did you actually need any description to work out who it might have been?
Carreraboy, the only person to upstage Derek Bell in driving a Porsche at the Silverstone classic...Respect! []

Join the queue here for his autograph...
I want him to sign my engine lid - priceless []
Bring it round, I can help...Who do you think signed the white car for him? []

Some guy with a 912 was tearing into our own power ranger on the members only forum last night reckoning that RS stood for Really Stupid, but I see the moderators have deleted his post[&:]
No - it's still in the Chat Room

Why do you think no air cooled cars where allowed on track on the Sunday!!!!!

Because it seems that if one person has a spin on a parade lap, then every driver of a rear engined Porsche can't be trusted according to the people in charge at Silverstone - and every driver of a 964RS must be Real Stupid according to a couple of members of this club if you read the post in the chat room. Nothing like tarring everybody with the same brush is there? [&:]

Clearly the 912 muppet was only jealous that he could never get the thing to go fast enough to actually spin...marbles on the track or not []
Any time you want to chat MUPPET I'm happy......

(To be fair). I don't see that every driver of a RS was called stupid in the thread. It was clear a RS owner was the one particular spinner that was the target of the anger, but that's all.
Okay point taken - I probably read it in the wrong way which is too easy to do on these forums. Although phrases like "people who caused it", "they showed their stupid driving" and "as it is, it will always be marked by a few stupid RS 964 drivers" could infer that 912UK thought several 964RS drivers were driving stupidly.
Anyway, no harm done - life's too short and all that. And as clubsport said, just another one to add to carreraboy's list of track moments. [][&o]

Clearly all banter, why would any get upset by an unfortunate incident....clearly the poor chap was not happy with the line he took... Senna,Scumacher and maybe even Fangio have made mistakes on track...is Carreraboy not allowed any slack for adverse off line track conditions?

It's ment to give every one a chance for abit of fun but not a race. It turned in to a race.
Second it's to show the public our great cars at their best on the track and a way to represent our club and other clubs related to the car.
Thirdly how the **** can you poke a lame shot at the 912. Have you ever driven one? no I doubt it.. If you could be bothered to read alittle you will read how a number of 911 owners who I took out on the track the next day with out spinning might I add , came out from the drive I gave them with a VERY NEW respect for a car half the engine size of theirs..Even the instructor Mike commented on how balanced it was in the corning and what a great little car it was..as it is 40 years old and holding it's own on the track day....
Fourthly and I will leave it here alot of people made a HUGE effort to get them and their cars there, to represent their club where disapointed .The hard work of the likes of Tony Bull, thus made his job harder.. esp from what it seams are well seasoned track day users..
