Still looking for a 3.2 CC

Still looking guys in case anyone comes across a nice, well looked after one, looking for a good home.

3.2 Carrera Coupe, G50 preferred, RHD with not too stellar a mileage (don't mind just over 100, but would prefer below). Max budget is £15k depending on condition.

I get all the new ad alerts on P.Heads and I trawl through Auto Trader and the Porsche monthlies. I have also joined the PCGB and just waiting for the mags to come through.

I'm not expecting the perfect car to simply drop into my lap, but stranger things have happened, and if you never ask... oh, and I don't mind wierd colours, brighter the better!

I have two possibles in mind but I don't seem to be having much luck getting back in contact with either of the owners.

Thanks in advance.

My 84 Guards red 3.2 coupe is still for sale but has 915 box. Price VERY reasonable as I have to sell due to house move. Mail me for details if interested.

Cheers

I may have been one, (Black 87 model) advertised mine in Octobers/Novembers PP as I was think of changing it to my mates 993, had a change of heart though.......

Have you check Gmund cars in Knaresborough, they have a couple at the moment.

I'm going to try and get up to their open evening this month if they have one. :)

I am hoping to see this one at the weekend:

Owned by a fellow Pistonheader, 80k miles, full history, very good condition interior and body, recent s/s sports exhaust and, it is in at Northway currently having a new clutch fitted. I have spoken to Northway and they confirm it is in nice condition and seems well looked after. It also had a full Peter Morgan report when the current owner bought it a year ago, which showed nothing untoward.

It is an 85, so I lose out on the G50 box and it has Speedline split rims, but the original Fuchs are also present.

It is around the £12k which doesn't seem too far off the mark?

:)

Look good. It has a Turbo rear spoiler rubber that looks odd and needs lowering a tad at the front. Good luck.

With the money you are "saving" you have a good fighting fund and can afford to get the 915 coupler etc all sorted for a nice positive shift.

Will probably be able to say hello then, I usually go to these things.

Hi,

Contacted Andy at Gmund cars to see if this was on this month, but he has other commitments so has had to cancel. He said it would probably be on in Feb though. Keep an eye on the R7 forum!

On the other hand this won't stop you popping in to see them.

Richard, how the bl**dy hell can you tell it has a funny rubber!!! [:D]

Though from different angles the Turbo ones do look a bit odd, i have shots from the back and it looks ok.

Exactly [;)]

And all the new rubber bushes replaced and maybe the suspension lowered a tad!

Here's one from the back.

Are those silly wimpy fog lights, that just seem to dangle there annoyingly, easy to remove? (obviously put back on should it be foggy officer!)

Easy enough to take off. Easy to convert to later spec with integrated rear fogs as per the later G50 cars.

I'm not sure about the Turbo spoiler, either. I would say either get the right one or take it off and get a non-spoiler engine lid. Put the Fuchs back on, put the indicator lenses back to standard (orange) and bingo, you'll be there. Sell the wheels on e-bay and put the money to some brand new rubber for the Fuchs. Keep the foggies, they look okay if you ask me, but I prefer the '87-on with the foggies in the rear lense.

If you look at the bottom of the reply box, click on the upload tool. It will do the rest! Thanks for your compliments. No I don't concours it as I love driving it and I don't want to get to the stage where I am scared of getting it dirty! Having said that it is hibernating at the moment until the winter muck and salt has gone away[&o]

Hi Burriana

£12k sounds about right for an asking price if the car is in good condition all round. The Fuchs depending on size and condition should be worth a few hundred upwards.

Once I drove cars with 915 and G50 boxes back to back and IMHO whether one is better than the other in these old ladies is entirely down to condition ie a good 915 is better albeit with different characteristics than a worn out G50. My current 915 (having been re-built) is a gorgeous bag of cogs [;)].
