strip ing body

When I had to remove the front screen I found it easy to peel the rubber from the frame on the inside. I did this around the top and sides and then rolled the screen forward finally carefully lifting onto a blanket. With this method there is no risk of scoring through the galvanising when cutting the seal and you save the rubber for re-use, if required. When putting the screens back in the fitters will prefer re-using a serviceable rubber seal than using new. I believe the insert is hard to source so care is needed when removing.

I've been to see the progress so far.
If you're really fortunate you might own a 3.2 Carrera as solid as this one!!!!!!
Believe me, I poked and prodded all the usual suspect areas and found nothing but sound metal.

Last part of the front came apart last night the rubber air spillter, what a bitch
One clamp plate fell apart and 2 of the bonded bolts sheared but still usable
So far the only lost is the 2 bellows so not to bad.

Don't be tempted to bin all the splitter fixings if they are salvagable. The genuine parts are bloody expensive (don't ask me how I know...)!

Great job Paul - wish I had time to come and look but hols beckon!

Hi Paul.
I Have 7 new clamping plates that hold the lower front rubber splitter to lower metal valance.

Any use to you a donation to my 993 repair fund would be good.

Charles

Paul,
Alan removes underbody sealer with a blow torch. If there was an easier way, I'm sure he'd have found it. Hopefully that will enable you to free the bolts up. Can't offer advice re the rear screen as I'm still on holiday, but if you can be more specific (tin?) I'll try to get an answer for you.
Chris
