strip ing body

So finally some hint of corrosion. I still can't believe this car has been so immune from our great British weather! Maybe some small scrapes of metal from this car could be used like a penicillin jab to cure others.[:)]

On a big diet so there not in the picture but hey ho still progressing got the last bolts out today on the
inside of the n/s wing so still on for end of October Come on over next Saturday for brunch?
Paul

O/s front wing has got the worm just where the oil pipes emerge by the seal lost about an inch
of metal so a small bit of welding me thinks
Paul

Told you so...as Oscar Wilde said 'only three things in life are guaranteed, death, taxes and rot at the bottom of the O/S wing on a 3.2 Carrera'

I might pop over tomorrow for a look if convenient. I'll call you after work in the afternoon.

Be good to see you Chris
anybody know what the tank in the o/s rear wing is and what does it do,mine has 2 small
plastic pipes both broken
Paul

Don't know but didn't American spec cars have an evaporative control system? So the tank could be the expansion tank which would have been connected to a charcoal filter as part of that system. Probably total b******s on my part.

The tank is a carbon canister according to P E T,what is it doing on a 87 car which is an original
right hand car, sold new by AFN@Foundry Lane and what does it do?
Paul

Paul the carbon canister is a fume filter from the fuel tank, a pipe leads from the fuel tank to it then one to the air filter box

Paul I know of a few that the pipe has broken on them and they have had fuel smells around the car, I have a induction filter on my car so the pipe off the air filter I put to a small filter next to the induction filter just to take away any fumes when running
so my advice would be to renew the pipes Porsche put it there for a reason!
