Supercharger project

ORIGINAL: 944 man
If this is the case then the best solution will be to utilise a 951 intercooler.  Ive seen a number of 931s fitted with such a part, so Im confident that itll fit a bolt on badge panel car.

Seconded, it will fit.
If I'm not mistaken the 924 CGTS uses the same intercooler set up as the 951, fitted under the front panel, though but I'm not sure if it's the same intercooler.

Great to see your project finally reach fruition Peter. Very pleased for you. Of course there are still some teething and developmental issues to get through, but you're driving it and that in itself must be very satisfying. I think it will be interesting to see which way you go when you want to increase the boost....because once you're in the 'club' you will get bitten by the bug....God help you my friend, God help you. Hi 333pg333

I noticed in your signature the above info which I'm assuming is a throttle body, can I ask you what effect did this mod have on your car, I've been considering modifying one myself as I have both the expertise and equipment to machine it but was curious as to 1 it's effect on the car's performance and 2 just how far should I go in machining the opening?

Pete

Hi Pete,
Well it's really just a part of a 'whole'. In other words, if you don't do other mods to complement this, then there is probably little to be gained. On that particular engine, it is a fairly modified 3L 8v. Everything has been increase in size in terms of the Volumetric Efficiency so thereby justifying a larger Throttle body. Some say that this can affect response, but I never noticed this when I had an earlier version of this motor in my street car.
However, rather than highjack Peter's thread you can read about the build here. The final incarnation of this motor is still in the US. It will make it's way back to me in Australia in the next month fully tuned with maps for pump and E85. I will make a track car to house it.
