Hi fellers,

I am going to replace my suspension with a Spax kit, after your opinion on which set to go for:

RSX - adjustable 35mm - 65mm Coilovers £630

PSX - lowering springs 30mm / 28 stage adjustable dampers £385

Road use only but may track just the once[:D]

Big thanks to Copperman

Hi Andy, Depends what you use your car for. I had the RSX fitted to my S2, I can recommend them as a good option for the track.

I have RSX and im pleased with them. I thinkI paid a bit less than what you have stated, where have you seen them for sale.

Do a write up and some pics when it's fitted!?Fresh suspension will really make the car feel good I bet.

The suspension from my old car is currently on eBay. Apart from the fact he said he wasn't going to part it out, it's good stuff - Koni adjustables. I bought it from Blease on here after about 600 miles of use and put another 1000 miles on it. M030 height adjustable perches with Koni adjustable inserts, Spax 30mm lowering springs and I replaced the camber bolts with new ones. Strut mounts are from my 76k mile car and are excellent. Rears are Koni adjustables - as new condition, same mileage.

The issue you may have is that if they are designed for track use you will probably find them a little hard for everyday road use, you may need to try someones car with them fitted before you commit. Having said that, firmer suspension also works well on the road, especially if you like driving, its just about what your willing to compromise, a little comfort for confidence inspiring road holding or road holding for a bit more comfort? If they are motorsport shocks I will assume they are on firmer springs, etc, if you are driving on 16'wheels you may find them not too bad. Edd

Dave, what is the craic with your old suspension, was looking to refresh mine on the 220, front end is original with 120 odd k on them.

Mine were from Design 911 via Ebay and were £560 inc shipping back in May.

I am guessing from Edd & Porkies posts that I don't really need the coilover HSX kit and that the PSX will suit my needs? Mind you anything is going to feel 100% better!

Bought it from "blease" on here with under 1000 miles and a track day (or two) on them. Added another 1000 miles and another track day. I repainted the front perches and put new stickers on there along with new camber bolts. IIRC I paid £360 for the suspension, in the advert it's got my strut mounts still attached too, these were in very good nick. Pretty sure I've got the instructions and adjustment knob somewhere!

I was hoping for some advice on the Spax kits, I will be buying a set of these as I want new kit fitted it is a question of whether the coilovers with the height adjustment are really required or if the fixed height and adjustable dampening would be adequate? I am guessing and leaning towards the latter

Rear coilover should have the rear reindexed 1st so the car sits a low as poss then brought up 2 hight with the coilovers, a lot more work. If not the rears won't do anything other then rattle. Can you see your self getting under the car making adjustments? Or just leaving them? I think it more acase off spring rate then adjusement.

I chose the RSX for height adjustment as i wanted the ride height at the front to come down a little. The ride is firmer as you would expect but its not too hard for daily use, with this kit depending on your car you do have the option for the factory to cnvert the rears to coilovers if you wish.

Thanks, Id already looked at their site but I couldnt find 944 dampers - fixed by unblocking activex. Are you sure that theyll work on your series two car? Suspension was revised for 1985 hence the >Aug '84 fitment commonly found. Simon
