Tis me the hooligan......... I do actually have a broom but use it to keep my rear hatch open/up - would not want to use it on the tarmac[;)] chipped screens are an occupational hazard in this lark, you should see mine from other cars ........ but at least you don't get the MOT man saying it needs to be changed (unless of course it is road registered!) Good job we checked the clutch - same problem that stopped Paul's from working during practice recently @ Rockingham - a manufacturing problem with the pilot bearing holder in the flywheel - that we can modify like we did his! Baz

points now up, here: [link=http://www.porscheclubmotorsport.co.uk/sites/default/files/files/01%20Porsche%20Club%20Championship%20Points%20after%20Brands%20Hatch.pdf]http://www.porscheclubmotorsport.co.uk/sites/default/files/files/01%20Porsche%20Club%20Championship%20Points%20after%20Brands%20Hatch.pdf[/link] Barry, good work on Ben's clutch ------ anything we can do to prevent a mechanical failure during a race will be so important for points as the season unfolds. Onto Croft on 23rd & 24th April, ie the Easter weekend -- anyone coming from here?

Sadly I won't see you guys until 17th July at Rockingham (same day as one of the BRSCC races...) and then at the Britcar 24hr 30 Sept. and 1 Oct.

Only a few days until the Croft races, up near Darlington. Practice Friday 22nd April, with racing on 23/24th. Drop by if you get a chance and say hi.

Sat in the paddock at Croft half way through the meeting. Sumpter won the first race closely followed by Peter Morris, McAleer had an electrical problem and finished down the field. Ben D had a driveshaft failure on the line so that was most annoying -- amazingly I happened to bring a spare pair, so that is now repaired and we hope to get both Team Hartech cars up there. Mark K, had a small coming together at the hairpin, but he finished. Bennet who was involved had a DNF. Almost forgot, I got a 5th place and managed to hold off 3 chasing cars, so was quietly pleased about that. Our friends on here Paul/Chris in the yellow CS had the dreaded oil starvation problem, almost definitely a broken oil pickup pipe -- car going back to Strasse tonight in the hope of repairing it for tomorrow! More after the 2nd race tomorrow

Watched the race today. It was good to see so many 968s, but one of you needs to beat that old Beetle thing that Sumpter is driving [:D] I thought that McAleer (matt black 968?) was going to have him until he had his problem, but Peter Morris was having a good battle and did well closing the gap up, shame he just couldn't quite get past. Your car looked like it was going well too Paul, good luck for tomorrow.

Well done Paul, talking to Paul H earlier it sounded like you made a big step forward in performance terms from a couple of years back [:)]

Great weekend bit of excitement here and there in the first race, was determined to finish after incident, managed to limp back to pits had rear wing pulled off wheel with a bar,and finished race 1,race 2 was exciting wheelspin off the line so not best launch, first bend was a big bunfight, managed to come out ok but boxed in behind someone.main aim was keep nose clean and finish in one piece, managed to do so,thanks mr F for the alternator and Paz for being there with me all weekend, roll on Donno. If anyone finds results can they post link? I can't find it..[:)]

Hi Mark, I think they will put them up on their own website, Darlington and District Motor Club. I checked just now and they only list the flyer for the event.

No blurb for now, just got back --- just the full set of results from Croft here, hopefully the columns are self explanatory, if not shout! ps results nabbed from [link=http://www.mylaps.com]www.mylaps.com[/link] -- might also appear on [link=http://www.smart-timing.co.uk]www.smart-timing.co.uk[/link] when they get round to it! I must say we are really happy with the teams performance in our first season of car racing and our first two races. It has already achieved a lot of what we were looking for - interest for our workforce (many of whom are now hooked and went to Croft and tried to help as well), a move up in the involvement in the Porsche Club support, technical experience and new challenges for our technicians and a bit of excitement and fun along the way - a win-win situation all round. However it looks like we did too good a job of the clutch on Ben's car - broke the drive shaft - which is a real shame because we changed everything we were aware could be a weak spot for this season (including fitting a brand new oil pick up tube as we have no knowledge of how the car was driven in its distant 0past - perhaps with miss timed balance shafts that can fatigue the tube) - but were not aware the drive shafts could fail - if we had changed them for new ones - he would not have failed - Oh well - it's a bit of a earning curve for us and this is just one of those we have to accept and move on. What a great Team - it is becoming however - with Paul supporting Ben when he had problems and getting two excellent results and building some good team points - I think amongst his best drives too. 8 Team races - 7 finishes in the first 7 - two seconds - fastest lap etc - and one DNF we didn't anticipate - no ones fault though I think would be fair to say - Ben just wanted to try and get a good start to match the rear heavy 911's that scorch off the line and we tried to improve the grip - too much it seems for the old drive shaft. Bad luck Ben - well done for trying though! Both at Brands Hatch and Croft - Ben was within seconds of the winner and the cars look really well matched - we are going to have to learn fast how to make Ben's car handle better to help him in what looks to be a very difficult challenge ahead = but I think it made for good close Club racing - which is what it is all about in the bigger picture. Ben's engine was running a bit hot at the end - it had a new water pump so is it the dreaded lose impellor? and has the quality dropped off? - we will find out in a week. Off now to Donnington 14th May - hoping for better luck but when you look at the changing fortunes of the F1 teams and drivers - anything can happen in racing!!!!!!! Baz
