The Power of 4 (Camp4, that is)

Don't know who else has received this, but in my 'Centre update' magazine from OPC Cambridge today there is the chance to win a trip to Camp4 in Finland.

To win the trip, four people must face a series of challenges "designed to test your knowledge and handling of the Panamera and other Porsche models". This is basically an assesment at Silverstone and the highest ranked team wins the trip.

Now, I don't think I'm exactly {insert name of favourite racing driver here}, but I do think I'm reasonably handy at the wheel, and so I fancy a stab at it. Who wants to join me and make up the other three names?

Updated names as of 24/5/11

1) glamdring
2) garyw
3) ds7_uk (TBC)
4) lancerlot

Reserve (for this group, feel free to start your own)

1) Rodney Naghar
2) Rufus

from what i've read so far it doesn't cost anything but i can't believe that :)

I'll ring up on Monday and find out for sure then post back. But we need more ppl!

I went to camp 4 in feb and it was great. We used Panamera 4's for part of the time - they are surprisingly able. Having had a great time yesterday at the you drive event (thank you Gary) I'd be happy for any excuse for a return to Silverstone but I am no driving God so I suspect you can find more able team mates.

ok - looking forward to the outcome of your call Monday

do you have a date? Am mid move from Herts to Scotland, but the 911 will be south until post silverstone classic

cheers

OK so I've registered this morning. The format as I understand it is:

1) Register [:)]
2) In early June, they send out an online quiz for the 'lead member' (me, i assume) to complete which I'm assured is "not difficult"
3) If you get through the quiz and are chosen by your OPC (fingers crossed - as an ex-employee of my OPC I hope I have a good chance [;)]) then you get invited to the one of several test days at Silverstone which will be in September 2011.
4) If you're the best performing team on the day (there's a trip to be won each day) then you're off to Finland.

That's it; no cost involved whatsoever.

So then we have two names plus Darren if you can confirm if those dates are OK for you?

See first post for list of names

I think everyone who gets a copy of inside track from your OPC will be able to register; the other three people don't have to be PCGB members or even Porsche owners.

Matt
I have another volunteer for you, quite handy in a Porker [:)] - as long as no one else here steps forward..

I'd like to give it a go.

As I understand it, everyone registers and then gets sent a quiz to complete early in June.
From the results of this, one person from each Porsche Centre is chosen, who then choses 3 other guests to accompany them to the Silverstone test day.

So it seems we can either work separately and in competition or collectively as a team. If the latter, then everybody needs to register with a different OPC in order to increase the chances of being selected.

Regards,

Clive

Looking forward to seeing your A++ for the online test

count me in

Are we sticking with one entry?
cheers

Do you think the test at Silverstone is a theory one or hands on? I might like to join 4 teams if it's hands on [8D]

I didn't have any intention of it being '997' owners only or anything like that - we're all here for the same reasons aren't we (enjoyment etc).

I think more than one team and we all collectively pile in is a sound idea. I'm at OPC Cambridge but that's not to say someone else couldn't do OPC Cambridge under their name, or another centre and then whoever gets through we all jump on that bandwagon. Either way I'm sure the winners will have an awesome day.

In view of the potential interest in this competition and to maximise our chances of getting a PCGB team into the final, may I suggest everyone interested in participating registers by phoning 0208875 8689 or online at panamera@porsche-events.co.uk.

A short online quiz is being sent out on 2 June 2011 and it will need to be completed by 30 June 2011 (entries received after this deadline will not count).

All people that answer the quiz correctly will be entered into a draw where a place can be won (this will be you plus three friends of your choice) to represent your Porsche Centre The Power of 4 event takes place at Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone in September. Winners will notified by 8 July 2011.

The event will have 12 teams competing in a series of challenges and winners on the day will go to Camp4 early next year!

If there are any questions in the meantime, please contact 020 8875 8689 or email panamera@porsche-events.co.uk.

Regards,

Clive.
