The Power of 4 (Camp4, that is)

Mat,

We were the last team on the simulator.

From memory I believe Alan did a 1.35.108 or something - so it was close. [;)]

Regards,

Clive.

Yep, it was a 1.35.1 and all those hours of F1 on the Logitech G25 finally paid off!! It's never over till it's over and the best times always come right at the end of qualifying! [:D] Now if only we could work out how to get 80mpg out of a Panny diesel and a team average of 90 on the Batak............[;)]

Highlight of the day for me - GT3 RS. Sliding that 540 degrees round the circle, then powersliding halfway to the first of the three hairpins, then sliding it through the second hairpin and continuing it 'seamlessly' (his words not mine lol) into the third ... never thought I would achieve it but what a feeling!!! More by luck than judgment I fear but epic nontheless :)

Show off!!!!![:D]

As the other team from PC Bristol Gary,Chris,Peter and I performed competently but were some way adrift of the winning team who had two young Carrera Cup drivers!
Their score sheet seemed just a row of 25's!
Nevertheless I managed 40.9 on the mixed driving over 1hr 20min in the Panamera Hybrid. Felt exhausted with all the concentration but better after a swift drive home over the Cotswolds!
Our best on the simulator was 1.43 but after a pleasant light lunch all four of us felt nauseous despite the seat being fixed! Very definitely not the gameboy generation!
Grateful thanks to Andrew Remnant and his team at Bristol.

We were sadly robbed by a team of racing drivers(otherwise known as ringers).

Was this on the same day? If not seems like a bit of a recurring theme here! Not sour grapes as we had a great fun day but would have thought the event was aimed at us mere mortals and not pro or semi-pro race drivers!![:D]
I would still like to know who the mysterious disappearing yellow team were from the Thursday event![8|]

I had an amazing time, it was such a great day.

For me the highlights were also drifting the GT3RS and driving the CaymanR around the handling course.

The most dangerous part was being in the Panamera trying to get the most MPG
Roundabouts? - Push over I'm coming through.
Blind crests? - I'm coming over and I'm not giving way like it or not!
Dual Carriageways - Watch those lorries overtake!
Junctions - I'm certainly not braking and I'm not giving way!

We were team Monaco with the most Max scores - but the tied worst Cayenne score :(

That was the same day as us Rodney! Another thing I don't understand is why 7 teams scored 25 on the road. Surely they didn't all exactly tie on the mpg and zero emissions? And team Valencia scored 25 for the handling and virtually zip in the rest. Did they just drive round really slow and steady then? :ROFLMAO: I shall cherish my simulator glory.............[:D][:D] Who were those yellow guys.............[]

Alan, it was...
I didn't want to seem like sour grapes but felt somewhat similar to you, however the saying 'taking part' was true on the day and was one of the best experiences I've had at the centre, well almost.... Being driven by Peter for an hour or so to gain 48mpg wasn't the most thrilling bit  :ROFLMAO:
But the GT3RS certainly made up for it..[8D]

And I managed to catch pretty much every traffic light at red, roundabouts and junctions with other cars appearing at the wrong moment. Oh, and apologies to the bloke in the Bentley, I really didn't want to have to stop for you...

Had we been one of the 7 Alan we would have won easily even with our Batak problems. It seems to me this was a great day out spoilt somewhat by an excessively generous first prize which brings out the worst in us all as we are all competitive people. Apparently last year there were some enormous rows including the threat of legal action by some. Its got everyone talking about Camp 4 though hasnt it. We can always pay and go and as you know I can thoroughly recommend it as it is about driving not fitness or economy. All the bits you enjoyed on this day are there in spades at Camp 4.
