This picture was taken an hour ago and the man with the spray gun was in the next room waiting for me so he could start. She should be all red now. Will have three coats by 9 tonight. Then sanded and finished with a clear coat by the end of tomorrow[
p.s. you can't see it very well in the photo but he's bought the original stone guard stuff used by the factory. Apparently only one place sells it now?

I thought it was a standard Wurth product? Paul Smith experimented with it IIRC, when he did some touching up on the S2.

I've been persuaded to leave the badge panel as it was. I was discussing in another thread with someone whether it had any performance advantage to vent the badge panel.. possibly not as they did it with the 924 T and then left it with the more powerful 944 T? He just said sitting there finished it looks 'the balls' and it would be a shame to ruin the smooth look of the front but cutting holes in it. So Saturday is going to be the re-birth of the all new, and rather more understated WUF.
edit to add sorry Paul I'm not sure, they said it took forever and a day to dry? Does that sound like the stuff?

Just saw your other post and I bet you'll be wanting to replace lots of little trim pieces that look tired once the paintwork is immaculate. The OPC is your best bet for these and I replaced quite a few when mine had paintwork done too

Now there is nothing, not the tiniest pimple, swirl or change to disrupt the reflection. Just a perfectly smooth surface.

this is in the extremely harsh inspection bay where WUF originally looked like a right hash of swirls and imperfections (I thought it looked immaculate under normal light outside?!)
Lighting makes a huge difference to the degree of imperfections you see, and the quality of the finished article. If it's that good under harsh lighting let's see it in the real daylight!

I can't wait to see it all finished. If it's as good as Ben says it is then it will be real good to know of a good shop in Northampton that can take on older cars with corrosion and maybe do a bit of fibreglassing at the same time [

Weight isn't something I'm really bothering with on this car but (mainly for clarity if I ever get electrical problems) I'm going to get an auto electrician to go through the car and rip out all the unnecessary wiring like the old Porsche alarm, telephone kit etc etc. I don't have the spare tyre either. Overall I'm hoping to get the car close to the factory figure of what was it? 1350kg for the later cars? I think Rick said it was 1430kg with 2/3rds of a tank of fuel. That's a big discrepancy
I have mine at about 1285 with mid tank and no driver. Want it lighter though to make up for incoming cage.

I have tried to make myself feel a little better by uploading the only half decent tunnel clip we got from le-mans but even that is disappointing[&o]
